It'll decrease battery life. Whether that decrease is significant or not depends on a ton of factors.

The 7th injector saga continues. I just sent the following email to Scott:

“So, Gadget gave me two tests to do.

    1) Apply positive & ground to the 7th injector at idle directly from the battery. This should fire the injector and stall the engine.

I did this and it stalled the engine

    2) test the wires to the 7th with a test light. Should be 12v at each wire at idle.

I tested the wires at the connection to the expansion harness. Both have power. One wire lights up the test light. The second lights up the test light, but also fires the injector when grounded and stalls the truck

Where do I go from here?

    Thank you,

    Tim”

I think my issue might be the ecu expecting fuel from the 7th at idle and the 7th not spraying fuel.

Maybe that’s incorrect I dont know

Oh, it’s supposed to stall the truck.

The tests were to see if the injector is getting power from the UCON, & if the injector is good.

Forgive my ignorance, but why is the 7th injector necessary along with larger injectors?

It really isn't. But throttle injection cools the charge air and the rotors.

Oh, sorry. I mis-read that. I don’t believe that the comp is expecting fuel from the 7th at idle.

Looking at the expected duty cycle on my UCON data, its 0% for the 7th at idle.

That, and me forcing the 7th to fire at idle stalls the truck.

I pulled the UCON. The expansion harness was fully seated and in the correct position.

Gadget says the expansion harness may be pinned incorrectly.

Looking at the pics that @loginfailed posted earlier in this thread, that does not seem to be the case.

Maybe it’s a UCON problem. Again.

Double check the ones I circled could be wrong, maybe?

This is the wiring that Scott sent me.

Make sure the red wire (pin 7) has 12v with engine running.

I tested them earlier. They both have power when the truck is running. One of them fires the injector and stalls the truck when grounded. Gadget says this is correct.

I will double check with him and Scott o. Which wires to use.

    Pretty sure that’s correct though.

Red is 12v so I guess if you ground the orange wire the 7th injector will dump fuel at 100% duty cycle. That’s probably why the truck stalls. So the injector itself is working.

UCON not pulsing the orange wire when it’s supposed to be then?

That’s my thinking. The injector is firing, both wires have power, & it appears that the harness is pinned correctly.

I sent a bunch of pics to both Scott and Gadget. Just waiting to hear back.

I think the next step is to send the UCON to Gadget to test it.

That would be ideal. He did do that once already.
