    Are you adjusting the kick on temp as well? I do this on my crawlers(22re&5vze) and my 5.7 tundra. The 15k fluid pulls a bunch of air, but being able to have it start even 15F before oem settings seems to work even better. When I start my trucks it sounds like a airplane is getting ready to take off and blows leaves 10ft behind me, LOL.

    Also i have ran across a few that dont have adjustment screws. In that case you can wind the spring a little tighter/looser to change temp settings.

    Good info to know! Do you have any information about these clutch fans? I know they are temp adjustable but do you know:

    What is factory temp setting?
    What viscosity is factory oil?
    What is factory full volume?

    Any info is appreciated.

    I am phone posting right now, and when I get to my pc I will find the links.

    In the 90s Toyota sold a "performance" kit for the fan clutches. It was just a couple vials of 5k fluid. Then someone on pirate or 4x4wire figured out you could adjust the windows by loosening the screws which then changed kick on temps. We didnt have aftermarket radiator support in the early years of rock crawling so this was the cheap way to wheel the Hammers on big tires and not pop head gaskets. Then the fj80 guys ran with it.

    I currently use a heatgun and get the front spring to 170F and make sure the windows are almost fully open, then tighten the screws. The oem settings seem to be anywhere from 180-195.

    I did just order one of these rads for my FJ. But my oem clutch works perfect so I wont be modifing it.

    I didnt measure. I thought about measuring both radiators capacities but got a little excited during install and didnt fo it.
    I re used my old antifreeze (2000 miles on it) and bought another gallon. It was enough.
    Toyota fluid I believe comes either 50/50 pink or 100% red.
    I used Pentofrost A4.

    Yes. I have 100k on it and when it gets warm I can smell tranny fluid at the radiator trans cooler fittings so I figured I would replace it rather than have the oem tank crack in the middle of nowhere.
