    There is a screw on the throttle body that comes set with glue of some type. When guys switch their throttle bodies to a bigger one they sometimes have to chisel off that glue and make a quarter to a full turn to adjust the idle.

    I’m going from a 65 to a 70 as soon as I can track one down. I hopefully won’t have to adjust it. I believe you only have to do it if you go to a 76.....chime in if I’m wrong....

    The inside looks like this. By turning the screw out you are closing the butterfly a little bit. This is needed because the butterfly is set for a 5.7 liter engine which obviously needs more air at idle. By making this adjustment you are setting the larger tb yo a nominal setting for the 4.0 so the ecu learns it much quicker.20180201_153251.jpgThe round pin in the top right corner is resting on the tip of the butterfly spring. Ccw 1 turn seems to work well for all who have done it.

    Its epoxy and they all have it so WE dont mess with it. :brianr: One full turn ccw.
    I think you are correct because the 70mm is already set for a 4.0 liter engine.
