Cool hope you can make it. I'm heading to @ETXTacoma's early saturday to help supervise the last of the front diff install and then plan on camping out with everyone saturday night.

No thread we've been chatting about it in @ETXTacoma or @trekker's build thread.

 

We'll be staying at a hotel in Gladewater with the doge since I won't be able to bring all of the camp stuff with all of the parts/tools for wheeling and wrenching on Tyler's most famous temporarily 2WD Tacoma. We'll be there for all other shenanigans aside from sleeping!

 

I'll make another thread because reasons, and link it shortly.

 

It'll be a good place to dump pics and stories into as well. Good call.

Im pretty sure that the gears in my starter have finally gone.

I called the "stealership" and they tried to rob me for sure...
Starter: $385.70
Labor : $260

Called O'Reilly
Starter: $119.99 with a lifetime warranty
Labor: $Priceless

Order the started from O'Reilly, will be here in the morning and i will be trying to install this before work at 3pm... So does anyone have any expericence changing the starter on a 2nd gen tacoma?? Youtube has a couple videos on 1st gens and a lot of 4 runners. It looks like its located on the lower passenger side of the engine and it looks like its a pain to get the starter out...

Im about to scour TW for any info i can find.

I thought that was for the alternator....

 

If you were closer you could bring it to the house and we could knock it out..its not to bad

 

I'm wrong it works on starter but if its the gear it wont do the trick.

 

Starter is on the driver's side of the engine, easy to whack with a tire iron when it starts to go.

 

I ordered a new traction control button..whos going to help me install it..i hear it's like a 3 hr min job

 

I can take apart the dash in just days, put me down for helping. As long as there's food and drinks.

 

Alternator...? No. Starter. Tap tap.
