quebec is in the same boat. they've been wanting to secede for 30 years now. they don't want to take their part of the debt and want to keep the infrastucture has paid for.

i'm sitting here in my holier than thou place and not everyone from tx is ignorant. i read this thread and find the whole theory of seceding to be absurd.

"i don't agree with what the rest of the country is doing to i am going to call myself texan instead of american from now on"

every country has their share of problems, it's a matter of working together and doing something about the problems instead of constantly sitting back and criticizing.

if you not willing to give something up then you will never gain anything.

    example:
no one needs to own automatic weapons, yet no one wants to give up the right to own them. in this process the wrong people constantly get their hands on them and get into battles. then it becomes the government's fault.

you guys would rather pay for your own healthcare instead of having the government control things. in this process the u.s. healthcare system is very nearly the worst in the world. why let corporations make so much profit from letting people die when the money that gets paid into the healthcare system can go back into it to improve it through reasearch and building hospitals instead going into a ceo's pockets and sitting in a bank account growing interest. greedy ceo's of corporations are the downfall of society. if no one can step in and say x billion dollars a year is enough then where is it going to stop. are they suddenly going to grow a heart one day and start helping people out?

It truly is sad that America has been put to shame by ALL the medical research and new drugs coming from other countries, lol

actually that statement, as sarcastic as it is, is true.

very few medical breakthroughs come out of the u.s. and it's definitely not paid for by u.s. medical insurance companies. some of these companies release this stuff to be able to put their patent on it and market it. european countries with government health care do the research and development. the u.s. FDA makes sure an american corporation releases it to the u.s. market.

ah, then continue on by all means. it's funny, both of my parents are Canadian and whenever we go to visit family up there, we always notice how irritable some of the people there are. Maybe it's just the farther north you head? who knows....

I've been to Canada. It was a very nice place, but there were several instances where people's behavior changed significantly after they found out we were from Texas :spy:

You should just lie and say you're from San Fransisco or something.

When I was there we actually witnessed an anti Texas/ George Bush rally on account of the war in Iraq. It was more funny than anything.

It wasn't a very big rally, but they seemed angry; especially for Canadians, lol.

yeah texas doesn't do much for me or any other canadian either.

canada has the worlds largest natural gas and oil deposits. we don't buy anything from you guys but we still have to pay premium prices for our own fuels due to the free trade agreement.

our right wing nut job government at the time forced us into it. the u.s. can violate it all they want, and have but canada must abide by it.
