started a small project.... Frankenstein-ing the body from a cheap ass fast and furious rc car onto my 1/18th scale rc buggy chassis for fun. Making my own version of the long travel charger in #7. I have to extend the chassis and the driveshaft by 1.75", and planning on sticking a lipo battery in it.... will haul ass when I'm done.

Actually not. They only have about 10 runs on them.... it's the sand stains that make them look like that

I've done it!!! Chassis' are permanently together. Gussets are on.... 5.5" long 3/16" steel rod in the center, and 2 2.5" along the edges, and 2 3" tapered aluminum angle pieces along the sides/bottom, and 3.5" long 1/2" aluminum on the upper brace.... went completely ape shit with the epoxy (refer to pic 1). A tad heavier, but sturdy ass hell. Went ahead and put the motor, esc, steering servo, and receiver back in. Drive shaft to be finished tomorrow. Also planning on doing the first test run tomorrow after work.

I has a real skid plate now :cookiemonster:

    20180608_213222.jpg

I haven't removed the factory skids since before LBL (march) '18. Had about 10 lbs of dried LBL mud. I beat the stock skids to shit too.

Got a relentless tailgate reinforcement plate also. Will repaint later.

    Both thanks to @totmacher

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Forgot to show you about trimming original plastic to cover the tailgate plate. If you ever want to sit on the tailgate, be aware that metal gets super hot.

Edit: tailgate won't close over plastic if it isn't trimmed in a couple spots.
