Some quick pics from Mojave Rd this past weekend, was an awesome trip! Having Kings/Icons on now rather than the 5100s I had on last time I did it made a huge difference....although I got lucky I didn't set off my airbags a couple times trying to keep up with Tom earlier today.

Got a bunch of photos still on my phone and the water crossing videos to go through...

LOL no I don't have any of those yet! I need to get some sliders, skids, lift, THEN I can snag some of those goodies. I still need recovery gear too!

It's a pretty easy trail as far as difficulty goes, but it is very remote in areas and you definitely don't want to be stranded out there or find yourself without something you need. Its 2wd friendly but I'd go with at least one 4x4 in the group just in case...there are sections that have deep sand, mud and some rocky hills depending on what side routes you take to see certain landmarks. But it's a must-do trail for anyone!

Yes! I am actually from NorCal and wanted to hit some casual trails with other people while I am down there. Since I am not from the area I don't want to wheel on my own...especially without any recovery gear

I already have a convo with Schmell! I just was comparing options because im not from the area and would need to come back down in 10 weeks for install of the sliders.

I have all of my extended family down there. I will be down there from Thursday until Monday. I was supposed to be living there by now but hit a road block in my police academy stuff so I am shooting for the July academy out in San Bernardino.

BAMF is definitely closer to me but for nearly twice the price of the gentleman in socal i would gladly make the trip down LOL

Relentless is also an option I've looked into but they currently dont have and DCLB configs. I should see if I could reach out and ask to use my truck as a test car and get a discount of some sort.

Exellent photography as usual, thanks for sharing. Looks like you timed this perfect weather wise. You don’t want to be out there in August! Right after the rainy season would be my choice as well to hit this trail.

Thanks Chris! Yeah I think we did it right at the tail end of the 'good' weather for the area...it was borderline too hot for me, but the first couple of days there was a nice haze and cloud cover to make the sun less intense. Yesterday was pretty gnarly though with clear skies out there and practically no shade anywhere, lol. I'm pretty sunburnt.

Last time I ran this, we did it in December and the day time temps were absolutely perfect (65 - 70 degrees) but at night time it was below freezing temps, which really sucked. This time it never got too cold at night which was nice. Should definitely hit this trail after summer is over!

Biggest difference between this Mojave Rd trip and my first one from 1 1/2 years ago...this time I didn't once have to ask anyone in front of me to slow down so I could catch up, last time it happened several times with the 5100s.

    Kings/Icons FTW :muscleflexing:

Though I do need to upgrade my front bump stops, bad...a few of those hard hits were bad enough to put you in a daze for a few seconds. Surprising I have zero odd knocks, rattles or clunks coming from the front end and my alignment feels no different than it did going into the trip. Lucked out there

Anyone interested in doing a night run up in Cleghorn with me and 4 other tacos on Friday night?
