I wouldn't do 886's without a bumper/winch or maybe bumper/skids on yours. I was thinking 885's.

Yeah i know what you mean... i have 700lb coils on my prerunner and even with no preload on the shocks, im sitting at 3 inches of lift and its pretty firm

Any idea on what the spring rate is on the 3rd gen coils?

Feels like the faster I go the smoother they are...but it feels like my dash is going to explode when I hit a small bump going 25 or less

885's give 2.5" of lift.

That's the valving in the shocks doing that. My OME set is valved like that. Smooth at higher speeds and bumping and stiff at slow speeds. I can tear down some bumpy ass dirt roads at 55-60 and it's smooth.

 

Only way it'd be limiting your travel would be uptravel due to how stiff they are. I'd wait till the bumper arrives and then figure out what you want to do. Don't waste money you don't need to spend, the bumper will make the ride a little better and you may loose an inch of lift MAX.

Only do 886 if you're going full steel bumper and winch. Or full steel and skids.

885 with skids wasn't too bad.

May want to look at the 887s. IIRC, they're the same spring rate as the 885s, but longer.

 

A shock doesn't know if it's on a 4x4 or not.

They make a powder to fix that.
