    Too much.
Truck specs: 2018 Sport 4x4 DCSB, OEM bed cover, OEM bed mat

So, I noticed when hauling some pellets for my stove not too long ago that my truck was a bit nose up. I had 10 - 40lb bags laid across the axle area in the bad, evenly distributed. I got a little curious when I got home and noticed that my leaf springs are flat.

    leaf springs.jpg

I measured all the way around the truck (pre-lift measurement) from the ground to the top of the wheel well and got the following measurements:

    DF- 35-1/8" PF - 35-1/4
    DR- 35-5/8 PR - 36

Is this a common occurrence with the Sports? I want to make sure any warranty work that needs to be done on the rear springs gets done BEFORE I put in the 5100s with AAL.

    TIA!

    Ron

Aal is just a bandaid IMO
Go with a full leaf pack
You’ll be happier in the long run

The AAL is part of the the lift package from Rogue that I got. Full leaf packs later down the road. I just want to make sure this is normal and does not require me to go to the dealership for anything before I put the new shocks, springs and AAL on....

Thats normal. Every stock Tacoma has damn near flat leaf packs. They're midsize trucks with barely any payload.

i've noticed the same thing with my 17. probably a dumb question, but is there anything wrong with just adding dakars in the back and no lift in the front? other than having a bit more rake?

Im actually surprised at those measurements and thought your would have more lift if you have an AAL ...I have the 3leaf progressive AAL from headstrong with the overload out and I'm at 38.25" rear from ground to fender on a 33" tire. And that's me loaded in my bed with 100-150lbs oh gear on a full tank, with 140lb rock slider and a front bumper.

I figured you would be 37" or so....my measurement at stock was your numbers you posted.

That's weird. My stock leaf springs aren't flat, they're curved... like a spine.

Normal... even with the Taco Lean.. when lifted the lean will be closer to 1/2" side to side and full tank of gas. You will want a spacer for the right drivers front shock tower. Go with the AALs and see if its good nuff for ya. I have the progressive AALs from Headstrong and overloaded bed still pretty close to level.

Replaced my original pack with Icon RXT full pack. Still holding good.

Did you replace the whole suspension or just the leaf springs? I was just wondering how it worked with the fox shocks.

    EVERYTHING.
I have replaced the OEM leaf springs pack with Icon RXT, rear shocks with Icon 2", front coilovers with Icon 700# and UCA with Camburg.
OEM Fox (PRO) rear are too short for the RXT and will bottom out. Need longer shocks by 3".

Stock leafs are weak. I put full dakar's in mine and hauled 40 25lb bark chip bags = 1000lbs. Sag was 3/4" :D

Definitely stiffer, but not as bad as I thought it would now that they’ve broken in. It handles well on road and great off-road. Just wish leafs weren’t so heavy

If only there where a leaf pack available that would provide a lift of only 1 to 1-1/2 inches, that could support a load, for people who don't want a huge lift.

...And what's the deal with the Dakars in the OME lift kits? The lift is too high for the rear shocks they spec'd for the kit.
