I do the same thing but with a cot. I like to be off the ground so the bugs can crawl under me and not across my face.

I use the cabelas cot/tent and fucking love it. Takes two seconds to setup and fold back down... keeps me off the immediate ground, and only cost 100 buck off Craigslist from a gentleman who I think only used it once. Looked brand new.

Not sure. I'll check it when I get there. I know a few local 3 guys, always bitching about it.lol..its for a steel recycler at port of Oakland. But 6 12's doesn't sound like fun, but I've done longer.

If it’s at the port it could be teamsters. The longest days I’ve ever worked were at the port cement treating and paving the lots. For 2 weeks we’d start at 5am and work till the portion we were working on was done. Sometimes till midnight then have to be back again the next morning at 5am. Brutal!

Sounds like a longshoreman position. Good union. You’ll work your ass off though.

Cots are fantastic. We had one in Baja this year. It was super nice for sitting in front of the fire or on the beach under the awning as well as sleeping. I might pick one up for myself.

I think so. I've climbed it 4 times with 8 attempts total. The views are rediculous.

I keep going back for some reason. I'm doing the Thunderbolt to Sill Traverse in August. A friend of mine wants to come along. I told him to come on that trip first you have to show up to Shasta and put in an effort. I'm confident we'll make it to the top. I don't go there anymore unless I know I'm going all the way.

If you'd like more information I'd be glad to help out. It's a super fun hike. It stands 10,000 feet above the surrounding landscape. You can clearly see Lassen and beyond on a good day. The sunrise is beyond words.

Ugh...youtube upload dumbed my video down to 360p.

This is a downside for sure. If it's really buggy out I'll sleep in the tent.

You must have the single. I had the double at one time and it was super bulky to move around. But it was nice.
