    How discounted are we talking?? I just picked up a $479 table saw for 260 from my local lowes for the same reason last week....... about to go take a look and see what the tag says on the tile saw.

    If the first piece is in backwards the rest are too assuming it’s all the same material.
    Could be a problem if lint gets hung up and you’ll lose efficiency cuz the flow is backwards. Better than the plastic/Mylar flexible stuff lots of people use lol

    I’d have them redo it if possible

    lol. Shoulda bought 10 and put 9 on craigslist! I price checked a set of $69 landscape lights one time. Guy told me $6.90. Asked him if he was sure that was correct and he insisted it was. So i cleared the shelves and bought all 8 boxes, used the ones I wanted and sold remaining for $35 a box. Lit up the whole backyard for -$200 :D

    Awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing this! I will have to admit, that is the downside. However, if you have enough left over you can use that for a small countertop like laundry or basement bar or....

    Yeah its a bummer cause theres no real other counter top to that we want to do. Ill do a small piece or two with the extra duralock (think that's what its called) and edging since we don't know how we want to finish it quite yet. So having a test piece or two would be nice.

    Thankfully the pricing difference isn't to terrible and its only on the edging. Just $70 difference. And realistically itll work out for making test forms and also extras for making a few 45 degree cuts.

    That looks like a site made crimp , which means other end of pipe can still be in correct orientation , are you able to shine a light up into the pipe and see how the next connection is oriented ?

    It's OK. Look up dryerbox info here:

    https://dryerbox.com/installation/dryer_vent_installation.htm

    Yes, it is not ideal for airflow in theory, but it will be fine with an external hose clamp. You're supposed to take the vent hose off and inspect/clean annually anyway. You can also have a service clean it from the outside in with a flexible rotating brush. I just went through all this, very long story, found a break in an L in a very remote, hard to detect area simply because I get anal abtouthings like retards causing my house to go up in flames, or having laundry machines stick out into passageways and doorways. I won't even go into the guys putting a foot through the ceiling into the guestroom, or installing the box too high and having to come back and lower it all, or waiting forever to have the drywall guy come and close it all up again. He was the best on the job. But we should not have needed him at all. Yay.

    I have an OCD about doing things the right way, especially when it can cause a potential problem. It’s not right. It’s taking a shortcut.

    @Cuffs
    I'm with @OZ-T this. My first thought when I saw the photos was it looked like a sloppy field crimp.

    If you take your camera and a flashlight you can shine it up there and take a picture. If it's a straight pipe (which I'm assuming it is) you should be able to get a pretty good picture of the next joint even if it is up 4-8'.

    Just fixed a dryer vent, that came out of the floor, had to make a connector with crimps at both ends to make the disconectable part actually fit anyway, I just taped the inside seam on the backwards crimp to smooth it over.
