Its sounds like a policy re write to me.

A real active shooter policy will include local law enforcement and "shelter in place" or run hide fight type of jargon

Yeah that’s what I gathered from it. More policy than training. If anything we should focus on how to spot the signs to prevent rather than what to do if it happened. I don’t think active shooter defense was really considered while designing my office with glass walls and a single long hallway that feeds to the two exits.

Got a job offer in Tysons! Don't think I am going to take it, though. Basically I would be somebody's bitch and even the thought of the commute gives me anxiety.

Thats exactly why i went with this one. I can get it plenty open and its easy to remove. Power cord is long enough to keep plugged in if i take it out too. Worst case, if it bugs me, ill drill the pin on the hinges and make them removable. Just open the window and reach in lol

May end up keeping the suspension parts if i can put them on a 4Runner later on. Could save me some money later down the road.

That's not a bad idea assuming they all fit.

DHS has the "Run, Hide, Fight" training video, it's good, and since it's DHS good for liability.

I prefer a "take cover and return fire" approach, but that's just me.

Haha it kinda feels that way. I was really pumped to get a solid offer but then I got smacked down to reality after thinking about it.

Hahah. Everyone gets the same online training, but the armed agents should've had their own active shooter scenario. My DHS component does....
