Is this an alternative to the cab mount chop?

 

I guess. CMC is a much simpler solution.

 

This is geared towards larger tires 35+. If you can get away with CMC, do the CMC rather.

How is CMC simpler?

I don't make them. I've just had a set on since 2015. No complaints!

 

CMC isn’t hard. Cut it back, plate it (or run it open) and you’re good to go on 35’s. At least I was and some others I know. Most run this when going bigger than 35’s.

 

I would do a cab mount chop if only going to 35's. Just chop as much as possible the first time.

 

It has begun. Will take a while though, as I’m bouncing around between this and coil bucket gussets.

 

Good luck getting a set. I couldn't get my questions answered, so I finally gave up and just did a chop.

 

If a chop worked for you then you should have done that from the get-go. This is for when you can't safely chop enough.

A chop wasn't enough for me. I called him and had no issues (Summer '17). This is not his main business and I doubt the influx of inquiries has been easy to handle or welcomed especially when he gets 20 questions. This is tailored to those that know they need it and know how to do it.

I did a search for RedGoatFab and it looks like he doesn't even have an active account here anymore.

Passenger side going in this morning. Driver side will have to wait. My car was stolen this week and There was an extra truck key and key fob in it. Once I get the passenger side put back together I have to go up to the dealer and get the truck rekeyed and reprogrammed. I did get my car back though, minus the stereo.

 

I’m running 35’s with 10”of lift and thinking about doing 37’s but idk about the cmc

With 35s I’m assuming you’ve already done the CMC. With 37s you will need to relocate the mount. I don’t think you can get these from red goat fab anymore but here’s another option. It’s actually a better option because it comes with new bushings and it doesn’t require drilling a new hole in the body.



They’re not as beefy but I’m sure they work just fine.
