Having seen many people go to specific threads to ask non-related questions and things of the link (myself including). I have made this thread where we can ask any question regarding anything that is Tacoma experience related.

With that being said, I will start with a simple one.

Automatic transmission fluid top-off. I want to do this, or at least make sure my tranny is full of fluid. Some people mentioned the engine having been recently ran/warm. Besides going under and checking the overflow hole (with the fill hole unbolted) do I need to do anything else besides add some WS Auto Tranny fluid?

    Thanks all.

Do I need a foam of some sort between my light bracket and the ditch bracket?

Not necessarily. One thing I will do occasionally is take the tubing from a bike tire and cut a small piece to sandwich in between. It will help prevent noise as well as premature degredation of the finish surfaces of both pieces.

black Yoga mat works fantastic as well. That being said, I have ran quad cubes on my ditch brackets for a long time now with nothing in between them and they haven't budged.

Guess I will re-post my question:

I think that can cause because those mats have cells and retain water.

Dude, when it is smashed down no water is getting in there. The material literally goes from 3/16" thick to 1/32" thick so it can't absorb.

If I recall correctly, there is a temp range. This is why people knew dealers were not doing a physical check because the trans would be too hot. There is a lot of info to read in that thread, but its good info. There is a way to check it without having techstream, and it should be in that thread.
Just trying to guide you in the right direction, I will see myself out now.

It’s not that easy. The tranny has to cool to a specific narrow temp range, then there is a procedure to follow before adding any fluid. This is why is takes several hours to do, just waiting on the tranny to cool is the biggest time consumer. The link provided above, will have the entire procedure laid out for you, but I suggest reading it, then attempt later.

I like to let my dog ride loose on the folded back seats but the hard plastic on the seat backs doesn't provide him a lot of traction. Consequently he's slipping and sliding and scratching claws at even the gentlest of turns. Anyone have any good solutions for this?

I've been thinking about screwing some thin rubberized sheeting of some sort to the seat backs. Maybe a yoga mat cut to fit or something.

Do you regularly flip the seats up and use them, or is the rear seat pretty dedicated to your dog?

It's kind of 50/50. My pooch is back there about as frequently as humans.

I did see this the other day and I am not opposed to doing something like it so long as it's
    1) not permanent
    2) interchangable within a reasonable amount of time and basic tools

That's something similar to what I was going to recommend. I have an access cab, and built a platform in the back for my dog. It's so damn handy for him, and also for placing stuff back there. You could build something pretty basic that's easily removable to toss in the bed if you need to transport a human.

Black yoga mat for the win, Stitch velcro to underside of yoga mat and have velcro sticky applied to your plastic. Cheap and easy to replace as well as custom cut

I got a shop to quote me on the cost because time is limited with my newborn. Toyota service was cheaper than the shop

Yeah, when having a threesome with a midget and her normal sized room mate in the bed of the Tacoma, can you get more leverage for the double reverse cowgirl with the tailgate up or down?

Ohhhhhh that's a good idea. Good thing I learned how to stitch at Marine Corps boot camp.

    :cookiemonster:

Depends. Does the normal girl do yoga or is the midget double jointed?
