    Two different topics; property taxes and insurance. Renters that don't think they pay property taxes haven't peeled the onion on what their rent consists of.

    We pay $1063 homeowners' insurance on the shanty, which is very competitive, because my agent knows I shop every year or two. When we moved to the new place two years ago, Travelers, (who we had used for over a decade), bumped the premium up about 30%, for a $ level of coverage that was about 12% more. He saw that, didn't like it, and proposed moving to a new company, which we did. That's why I use him, and why I rec him.

    And you have every right to worry about property taxes. I've warned my wifie multiple times that when I retire, we aren't living in a place with ridiculous property taxes. The appeal of a state with no income taxes is lessened when there is no income...
