Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

That was like 6,000 posts ago in this thread... I must have missed that.

I have 255/85/R16 tires which are about 33" in OD vs. the stock OR tires which are 265/70/R16 and 30" in OD. According to the TW calculator there is a 7.4% difference reduction in revolutions per mile vs. the stock tires I had. At speeds above 50 mph that starts adding up pretty fast. I would gladly pay an extra $100 on top of the tune to get mileage correction as a feature.

When setting land speed records in your Turbo Taco don't you want your speedometer to be accurate? I kid... I kid...

 

Well if magnusons recent post wasnt a troll/joke then were looking at 336whp at boosts probably around 7-8pounds. Time will tell

 

My 2016 Limited has 47,000 miles, I was going to wait until the 50,000 mile service to buy this, but perhaps I'll jump in now and enjoy it sooner than later.

I tow a 3,500 pound dual axle toy hauler and the weather is just about here to start the fun season...

My dual axle trailer probably weighs half that and it was a bear to tow *stock* with a yard of gravel in it. What toys are you putting in said trailer?

Of course not... it's an aluminum trailer - the 3,500 pounds is fully loaded with 2 race bikes, and all related stuff.

Lol ok. We're on the same page here then. 3500# total is manageable. You definitely know it's there stock, but manageable. With the tune the low end power gains are much appreciated. You won't be disappointed.

 

I regularly tow 3500 lbs the only thing that's disappointing is the half lock in gears S1-3. It's good when your accelerating but sucks when your engine braking.

If your towing on the reg wouldnt a diesel make sense? you cant be toyota biased. Apply logic to life

All this extra power and my rear diff just exploded... damn looks like the 4.88s are replacing the 4.56s!

Well if you had 4.56, that isn't stock, so I'd question the installation.

 

Has the tune update dropped yet? Did I miss it?

 

I can’t see “all this extra power” from this N/A 3.5 causing anything to break. I’d also question the install. I had a bad install on a Ford 8.8 take out every part of the rear axle. Even tweaked the housing and caused the following rebuild to fail again.
