The wife makes a killer southwest style chili, but it's not in the crockpot...

The recipe is yours, if you want it...

    Is it posted in here?

    Yeah, good idea.

That is the thing about her C&Ds. The dumplings don't really work well. She does them from scratch. Maybe I'll tell her about Yota's method using bread dough.

    Would love it! :hattip: Thanks.
It is the dumpling part that never seems to work. I think she has made it about 3 times and it always seems to miss in the dumpling dept.

hmm I'll have to ask my wife how she makes them. They usually are similar to a bisquit but about the size of a meat ball.

Hers just kind of flop. They always just turn into a mushy mess. The kids ask "what is that?" with a strange look in their eyes.

the trick is not to under or over mix/knead it ;) and not to stir the dumplings.

I think that is maybe where she is making the mistake.
The recipes under that dumpling recipe look good too.

I know my wife just rolls the dumpling over rather than stirring about half way through.

I think my wife uses a small melon scoop or something similar. She doesnt write down a lot of this stuff, just wings it and usually stuff comes out really good.
