I came out to my 2011 Tacoma one day and found it had been backed into. Not bad, just enough to be annoying. USAA gave me $900 for it.

Truck was not paid off.

Gas it!

I had this happen with my Tundra...

Deer just clipped the driver side front bumper. Busted up the fog light and pushed some of sheet metal back. Took it in and the initial estimate was 600 bucks. With a 500 dollar deductible, I decided to just pay out of pocket. Well after all was said and done, ended up paying about 1800 dollars out of pocket ( because if i switched back to insurance I would have gotten bumped to the back of the line). There are so many small parts and clips and BS behind the bumper that it all adds up pretty damn fast.

If you're worried about insurance covering the new bumper, I'd talk to your agent/company before hand to make sure. But I think it's like aftermarket wheels: they'll replace it if they can find it, otherwise they'll replace it with something "comparable".

My wife hit a deer in her H3, it was paid off. No structural damage, but the plastic cladding of the front bumper .. basically the whole front bumper was damaged. Mostly all the clips and fasteners wouldn't hold it straight. I don't recall the damage amount, but minus the deductible we paid a couple of hundred dollars and replaced it with an ARB full replacement bumper/guard. She was only doing about 40 mph and really the deer hit her lol. In the end, I think we came out well on the ordeal.

I know, have been watching it...Will be a big milestone for this thread. When we hit that point I have some stats to throw out for it, this would of never happened without the participation of the group.

Dunno, but that does give me an idea.

 

Change orders on ongoing as usual, punch list items always take about 30 days to complete as the owner is moving in. Fun times...
