I got mine 15 March 2016. After 2 years, I just hit 2,800. Can’t provide pictures because truck is in the shop. I have a very short commute from the bed to the couch.

Just want to add that I got my first free oil change under Toyotacare at 1,500 miles, and the second free oil change at 2,500 miles. Tires were rotated at the same time.

A lot of us have trucks as a 2nd or 3rd or 4th vehicle, I'm surprised at how many people do.

I'd drive mine more, but I travel for my business and my dd car gets 47 mpg. Just like having a truck, too.

I’m more interested in what’s the most miles someone has on the new 3rd gens...

    Low miles proves nothing.

The whole reason you buy the Tacoma is based on the heritage that they will last 500,000+ Miles.

If I’m correct there’s a 3rd gen owner who is probably close to 150,000 miles already. He uses his truck daily as an agriculture consultant in central CA.

I've definitely gotten much less enjoyment in 12k miles of off-road and national forest exploration than I would have with 100k miles of work commute.

    Definitely.

Thanks for the info. I too commute from my bed to my in-house office 15 short steps away. Was wondering how my oil changes and tire rotations would play out.

Required interval for oil change is 10K miles or 1 year which ever comes first. I take mine in at the one year point whether it needs it or not. Service department never questions my request.

Those free toyotacare oil changes are not really free. We just prepaid for them at vehicle purchase. Might as well get the free oil changes before the 2 year time period expires.

My couch is my office. iPad to my left and my tv remote to my right. I have a tocoma for one reason, because I wanted it. I’m in my 70’s and 100% retired.

Gameplan is to average 3,000 miles per year to preserve the Taco's resale value and then trade it for a heavily depreciated $80k Escalade...

well I win the dumb ass award, I purchased my 3rd gen in August of 16' and have little over 3300 miles on it. Changed the oil at 1000 miles, upgraded a lot, and started reading all the problems with 3rd gen truck. Hopefully family member is going to purchase it

I like the guys post to keep the mile low and trade for a expensive depreciated, since the resale are supposed to be excellent. That is a good post that you can get a smile out of, if he pulls it of I'll try the same.

But are YOU having problems? I read all about them.... a lot of issues surround the auto transmission so I got manual (would have anyway). Other stuff is covered by TSB and corrected in 2018 (that’s why I waited and didn’t get a 2017). I’m not saying there aren’t and won’t be issues but I think it’d be silly to trade it away or sell it on the fear of possible future issues.
