Yea, the Bobby and Paul are the shit. Great customer service. I have wanted to do a 1st gen 4runner build with their xlt 4wd kit. Problem is that front end will be just as wide as my taco with a +3.5.. lol I would have to add a wider axle and glass to the rear to match the track width of the front. lol

Ford 8.8 rear axle w/4.88 gears (open diff).

 

eh i have a open diff in my taco now and does just fine, axles arent a biggy to me personally. im used to stock 8" yota housings with chromoly shafts and welded diffs and does better then all of the built 1 tons around here

 

jeff i would just put money into your truck and keep it just buy a dmz kit and sell you mid travel and buy
Dezert Toy Fabrication race kit or Solo Motorsports kit

 

well as long as you got that gas moeny haha with 4.88

 

4.88s with 35s isn't that bad. Im not sure what the tranny ratios are but for a 1st gen taco 4.88s and 35s is about the same as 4.10s and 33s. Which sucks.

FWIW @jeff b i sold my mid travel kit for MORE than i purchased my LT set up for. I got a hell of a deal via @Dalandser but still, people pay top dollar for mid travel.

Its possible and easier than you think to transition.

 

If you don't use 4x4 then that makes sense to want to trade - I love my single cab, but when I knew I was going to get another truck I went for an extra cab just to be able to put another person or two in the truck even for a short distance.
