unfortunately by not bedding the brakes, you run into rotor warping and improper wear of the pads. Not sure if it affects the calipers, don't see how it could, but this could be your culprit. Pull a pad and see what it looks like.

Without pulling the wheel off yet, the brake pads look even and i get no wobble in the wheel when braking, so warp doesn't seem to have occurred. I did attempt to bed them twice, just so many cars here that I never got more than a few hard brakes in.

All good, Ill just take it apart and check things out. Clean things up and add more grease to the pins and bolts

Not necessarily. Unfortunately, the ECUs changed so often its hard to pin point which ones run great and which ones don't do as well. It is very inconsistent. Add differences in elevation and other factors and you get a lot of mixed results.

So people hardly ever ping even stock. Some ping so bad they need a lot of fuel mods and tuning.

    Just inconsistent sadly.

Plenty of spot that big bastard you have that wouldn't be as ideal. Id get what you have and an m12. The m12 can do a lot of bolts and is just nicer to handle due to its size.

All im saying is the smaller tool is easier to handle and can fit more places to make more jobs quicker. Which to me is the whole point.

The big bastard is for big bolts like you said and in those cases clearance usually isn't an issue.

There's your issue. My brakes squeaked and squeaked and shuddered the first time I used them. I had to bed then in to get them to work properly.

Thanks guys. I think everyone's saying the same thing, which is also the direction I was leaning - if I'm going to get one, it should be for the things that might really need it - so get the high-torque.

Mark - that one you pulled out on the De-Tour - high torque?

What pads are you using? I have Hawk ceramic pads and installed them with new rotors and they squeaked for a good month even after two hard bed-in sessions. Eventually it went away. How long have you had them on?
