I'm aiming to get my trailer back on (and off) the road in mid May also.

I'm just fooling! Out of the 3 we're looking at there's only one I really want. The other two are a tad too expensive.

    House hunting is hard.

    yes!
I think some bigger tires would go a long way!

since the subaru has a tow limit of 2700, I figured that once you add all the kids, toys, camping gear, it will be close to capacity, so any help I can get with stopping all that weight, I'll take it :) the brake controller in the truck is more of a "why not"

And the Tekonsha P3 you want can be moved from vehicle to vehicle so long as they are both wired.

Lol, I never thought about that. but its so true. I was bent on buying two units.
thanks @Canoehead, I think you just saved me $150! Really, when would both vehicles be needing to tow something with trailer brakes at the same time? :dancingbacon:

Got a start on the new drawer build and making good progress so far. Here are some teaser pictures:

I bought 96" of 5/16 rod to make custom bolts. After finally getting them all cut and threaded, it might not have been worth the savings hahah very tedious work

Anybody know if the 1st gen brake pads fit on the 2nd gens ?

I have a set for the passenger side only for a 1st gen If they are no good to me then I'll end up giving them away

I think the brakes are bigger on the 2nd gen. That's why we can't run 15" rims on the 4x4's.

Just changed the transmission fluid over to MT90. Honestly shifting feels about the same all said and done. Maybe a touch smoother, but not a noticeable difference. The plus side of MT90 is the lack of stank to it. Still smells of gear oil, but doesn't stink near as bad as the cheap stuff I run in the diffs.

Also, I bought one of these to help with the change, and it was worth the 30 bucks.

Just pulled off a drum and it looks like diff oil in there. Of course I find this out after 7 p.m. on a Saturday! Guess I'm parked for a couple days until I get a new seal.

Alright then anybody running a 1st gen I have non used passenger side brakes
My front driver side of my old 1st gen the brake piston wasn't backing off it would stay on while the ps would back off I was wearing brakes faster on the ds so the last brake change I had done I only had to change the ds so I still have ps brake pads

Also just finished another mod the anytime fog light mod it was pretty easy I might just do it to my corolla

    Now time fer beers

I have the Ford stuff in now for about a week. I think it is a little smoother than the Amsoil I had in before, but really that's splitting hairs. I think I will give up the search for a tranny oil that solves all problems and use normal stuff when I next change it.

I used this, it is AWESOME: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000BQW5LK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
