You don't have to do any of this. Meet up with group, ask what frequency everyone is on and key it in on the radio. That simple.
If you don't know what sxcall is for, you don't need it.

I got mine about a week ago. I did not get the cd. So I enter everything manually. Watched a 20 minute video where the dude just restored factory defaults and went through what he thought were necessary programming changes. It helped out a lot. I need to find a local ‘group’. Ive found weather and local pd but thats about it. These are some websites I found helpful from the video.

Cool, shes set up, video shows how to manually program which is very useful, got tw 00-18, wx for grass valley, sac, Monterey and figured out dual scan for stuff. I like how easy chirp is, its so easy I couldn't figure it out.

Theres a test on Saturday at raleys in granite bay Im gonna try and make it to at 10am if anyone else is interested in going.

Thank you Eddo for answering that. I read it and immediately thought that’s a question for you :fistbump:. To clarify, getting your license to operate ham teaches you nothing on how to operate or program the radios. Just allows you to operate it legally

you might get lucky in some areas but most major cities are using some sort of digital system which these can't listen to

Sac went digital a few years back. I think the freq band is in the 800Mhz range. But yeah, smaller cities and counties are still analog.

Bumper forsure! I’d get armored up and then suspension tuned/swapped for additional weight and desired ride before locker. At least, that’s my plan.

It what your looking for. I put a locker in first. Used spotter and checked my route for anything could hang me up or what could damage my rig. Had a buddy in front I could hook up to. The locker made a good difference
