Orkin, Ecolab or Terminx must have bought 5000 SRs

Everyone else is wondering if in 2019 the Tacoma will get rear disc brakes like the Ridgeline

Kind of like sitting upright in a Tacoma with a sunroof.

I bought the Ridgeline over a Tacoma because I needed a pickup truck.

For me the defining feature of a pickup truck is the bed and the functionality of that bed (size and payload). Not whether it’s BOF. That’s just my interpretation though.

The Ridgeline’s bed is longer, wider, and holds almost 50% more weight than a crew cab Tacoma. More than a Crew Tundra too.

That’s why I bought it. All the other areas where it excels were just nice extras. It’s more comfortable and looks softer but that doesn’t mean it won’t still haul 50% more weight than a Taco.

If I needed an off-road vehicle I may have bought the Tacoma but probably just a Wrangler.

Safety for my kids was also a factor. Look up crash test videos of BOF trucks vs the Ridgeline. I will never look at BOF trucks as “stronger” or “tougher” than Unibody ones ever again. Paper tigers really.

Tacoma stops great with rear drums. Not sure why everyone is in a hurry to add more expensive brakes in the rear for little to no gain in performance.

Maybe toyota should focus on adding gimmicks to the tacoma like the ridgeline has. Bed speakers seem to be doing so well for the ridgelines sales figures

I don't know anyone that prefers drum brakes when it comes to maintenance. Shit my stripped XL F150 has rear discs

Even when I tow 7k with my pile of shit Tacoma with a sunroof, I wouldn’t even have known I had rear drums.

    Enjoy your shitbox XL though

Oh great, we're now on the topic of disc brakes. I agree it's ridiculous that these trucks still use rear drums, but I'm not sure this thread is the forum for this.

Well the fleet manager at Ecolab is going to be pissed when he finds out the rear drums are not up to the task of stopping a loaded truck full of piss mats, urinal cakes and dishwashing chemicals

I wanted to like to Colorado so bad. Drove the v6 and the diesel. Drove Tacoma just to have something to compare it to and WOW.. I am so glad I did. Got an off road on order and can't wait to get it.

Only thing I don't like about these sales charts is how they always group all of Ford's trucks into one listing. Haha pretty sure the F150 is much different then the 250 and the 3/etc. I guess it does make the list more vacant for other brands to fit in at least.

Swimmer I think you are right on point here. There aren't many real men left anymore. My dad was an Air Force pilot and drove an Ford Ranchero. He was a real man and could have cared less what people thought.
