Anyone willing to come by the shop and own a 2nd gen regular cab 4x4? We are building a set for an order and something isn't making sense so we need one to verify some dimensions.

I had one, like 20 vehicles ago. Something happened to the CAD model and the drawing that was on the server is nowhwre to be found. So Im trying to figure out what is going on.

Do you run windows?
If so you can bring up Previous Files and open an old version of the file.
I could walk you through it if you want to call me.
I am here at work for like 30 more minutes.

 

We do but it was on our ext server. I know how to go to previous versions. I tried with no luck.

Just in case, you can go to previous versions of folders too and pull files out of there. Just an FYI, but it sounds like you tried everything.

 

Im going to keep trying. We have had server issues lately and cant quite seem to get it right.

Been doing Cad since 87'. Been doing it at my current job 25 years. It pays the bills.

 

I’ve heard stories about CAD in the ‘80s. I heard it involved paper, a pencil and a scale.

 

Don't forget a slide rule and scale.

 

Back then the AutoCAD program was on 10 discs and you had to switch out discs to perform various functions. But yea, I learned on paper with lead and then later ink. I still have a nice set of chrome plated K&E compasses.

 

Hey that's when I started. I believe it was Autocad 1.6. I'm still doing it today. Fun stuff.

 

I think the last Autocad I worked on was version 12 and 13. I remember writing the macros to put blocks on the tablets.

 

What was the name of the lettering guides that were used with ink pens? My printing used to be good, not so much now.

I did conduit layouts on the fronts with the structure printed on the back. Made it easier to make changes.
