I won't look for an email then. We are on vacation and someone is watching the house. I will have to make sure they keep an eye out for it.

Yeah they don't send an email or tracking info. After placing my order, I received it in about 3 days, but I'm in the same metropolitan area, so yours may take a few days longer depending on where you live in relation to California.

How many people have bought this from the original list at the current $60 (+$10 S&H) price point? Kinda seems a bit steep given the cost of material/machining these....

I agree that it is a little steep but I bought it anyways because I feel/hope that it will provide me value equal to that. If there is a price drop I will be disappointed that I over paid but in the long run I hope it will be beneficial enough that I will feel ok with what I paid.

Supply & demand at work my friend. The price will stay there as long as people are willing to pay it (which appears to be the case).

i bought it with the TW discount. still came out to be $50 shipped. that was still a bit much, but the way i see it, i like this product better than some of the other options out there and it fits what i need. also doesn't hurt to support people who are actually making/creating things for our trucks. don't you guys always say, "i would rather buy american made."

I was considering a little friendly competition and releasing mine at half that price shipped.

We're all homies here and these are just side gigs; I'm not in the business of 400% profit margins.

worth it. fit & finish perfect. easy install. allows for many mounts. i have spent literally twice that on other mounts that only held one item and sucked and ended up not being used. if i only had the chance to just buy this one first. and no shop to make myself. zero complaints, it's a nice addition and looks tight too.

I spent about $15 (over paid for too much aluminum becasue it was available on a Sunday) but it took the better part of an afternoon and a six pack to machine it by hand. Used a hack saw, dremel, and a flat file. Already had the tools to tap the holes. If these had been in stock when I wanted one or the OP had been responding to people’s questions with a time frame on batch #2 I would have paid the $60. However, it was fun and oddly satisfying machining my own. I get more gratification looking at my imperfect creation vs clicking and paying for someone elses part.

Exactly! We are supposed to be a community of people with a shared hobby who help each other. $70 for one of these is a total rip-off.

Friendly competition or stealing your ‘homies’ idea to profit on it instead? Tough call...

    Then don’t buy one.

It wasn’t his idea in the first place. It was freshmexicantaco or something.

And he (freshmexicantaco/pyrotechdesigns) vanished so lostsheep stepped up and said he would make them...and then when he disappeared for a while I said I would make them. When lostsheep showed back up I stepped back down again.

Am I missing something here? No one currently involved in this has any claim to the original IP.

But those 2 users are MIA and Lostsheep started to work on these. At the same time us3rnam3 was working simultaneously on these but us3rnam3 was cordial and had Lostsheep sell these, even though everyone was waiting for updates with no response from Lostsheep. He had a new addition to his family and that is what life is all about so, I understand and commend him for having his priorities straight. I don’t think anyone is stealing an idea, just producing an item that everyone wants at a reasonable price from an OP who is no longer around. I was watching this thread for awhile now and was ready to buy it, but the current price is more then what I want to pay for a piece of aluminum. Its a free country and anyone can sell their wares for whatever price they want! As a consumer, we can choose whether to buy it or not. JMHO

How shiny is this thing at night? I’ve got a dash-stuck suction cup cell phone holder right now and any time I go under street lights the thing shines onto my windshield from below and it looks like a UFO attack headed my way

I’d be real into it if it were matte black......I guess maybe I could paint it before installing?
