What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Haha, this is funny. I've thinking about replacing my 18" magnaflow because its getting noisier and raspier. No holes yet but very rusty.

 

It happens over time with fiberglass packed mufflers, gonna go with another 18 or a 22?

Not sure yet. Just at the beginning of the process. Probably another 18", I've really liked it over the years. Just not as much lately. Another 18" would be the easy way. Wanna weld it in for me?

 

If you come down here I'd be happy to. Does yours have hangers on it or are the pipes around it what's supporting it?

 

I was just thinking how cool it would be to some how twin charge either the previa SC/IC with a TRD SC or a rotrex SC/IC with a TRD SC.

I see it being possible but I wonder if it would be practical.

 

One hanger is welded to the tailpipe end of the muffler.

 

That's not too bad then, just a pain when they're supported some goofy way. Seen some pretty bad ones haha

 

IIRC, one was cut off the stock muffler and reused. It is definitely a stock hanger. Just not in the stock location.

Doing a turbo into the TRD blower isn't bad really. But compound boost is no joke. The stock pulley and a 10psi turbo is 18.5psi total. I think. I can't remember. Its not just additive, its compounded. So you run very high pressures.

Guy with an MKIII supra retro fitted a TRD blower to his 7mgte. Torque for days. Really flat torque. Was pretty sweet.

But you'd want to invest pretty good in the block to do that and full stand alone ECU..which not a problem for Frank with the MS3 PnP unit.

Gravel roads will get you, me and my cousins rolled a razor on it’s top a couple years ago, but it was just a dirt road that we were being dumb on.

And then there’s another road that I’ve been right on the edge of going to fast a couple times, even though I know it’s there... rough times

lmao i know what you mean. mine yells at me more as well for that (when it comes to driving) and my roads look like though one but more dirt. right now its like driving through some pottery clay. stay on the edges and your fine. but get in the center and youll drop to the frame fast.
