Windshield Sprayer Upgrade

Finally got my sprayers working again. Also found these online, then went to local Ford dealer and only paid 8 bucks each. Work a LOT better IMO, a fan spray patter instead of the light saber beam of fluid. Still sprays lower on the windshield but uses a lot less fluid and better dispersal.

ALSO, side note, removed my clutch tension spring altogether (read from another forum) since about two weeks ago. Squeak is gone in the pedal, and never have problems with pedal sometimes being stuck close to the floor.

 

Are they a direct replacement or do you have to modify them in any way? Pics? Would love something other than the "light saber beam" squirt.

 

Direct replacement, snap right in, perfect fit. A little jiggle/maneuver to get them in place, but fit snug. Connecting hoses after getting them in place is probably the ticket. Hose barbs oriented same direction.

You can also use Rav4 sprayers which have 3 nozzles instead of the 2 on Tacos.

 

The two streams never really bothered me but the fan pattern would be better.

Can you adjust the port so that it sprays higher?

Or I guess I should ask: how low on the windshield does the fan spray hit?

 

Do the 2nd gen sprayers fit? We get the fan spray.

 

It gets pretty windy here so I kind of prefer the stream to a mist, but I like the coverage of the mist type sprayer. I need to find a dual type with mist and stream.

 

Good to know, I tried the generic replacement ones and they spray below the wiper blades.

I also tried ones from a third gen Toyota pickup but they're too small for the hole in the hood.

What year rav4 ?

 

I asked about the Rav 4 sprayers at the dealer, but they couldn't find'em. Also, they're still the beam of fluid, I wanted to try to find a fan spray.

The new sprayers probably hit the bottom half of the windshield, but do splash on the top part, it's just not perfect I was trying to say, but I think a hell of a lot better.

1994-2000 work cause that's what I used but not sure on other years. I also heard that Lexus work as well and some of those are fan spray. I will snag a few lexus ones from the junk yard and test them out.

 

Sorry for the duplicates. You can see it doesn't spray directly over the whole windshield, but there is a lot of spray that ends up towards the top of the windshield. This is also stationary, it helps while driving, the air traveling over the truck carries some more of the fluid to the upper part of the windshield.
