I thought I saw plywood guy's house was for sale not too long ago. I remember seeing the listing and being blown away at the asking price given I didn't expect anything nice to be up that driveway.

 

The guy right next to him recently put his house up, might have even sold. So that might be the one you are thinking of, the sign guy is one house before. From what I can see in the fall it's trailers up past the sign, or something similar looking. The one that was listed for sale looks to be a real house.

 

That would make much more sense.

 

F250 6.7L oil burner. Found a used one that's priced pretty reasonably and has most of the options that I want and not a lot of 'extra frills' that I don't care about. We'll see how it goes!

That's the best price I've found for a relatively new diesel that wasn't a completely stripped down work truck. A lot of the newer diesels I've found for sale have been loaded models and, even with 30k miles on them, they're still carrying a price tag in the high $50-60k.

That's because it's a 3/4 ton, it's built to tow. Already comes with tow mirrors, receiver and it has the trailer brake controller option. It's not like the half tons that basically neutered from the factory unless you add thousands of dollars in options to have them 'ready to tow'. That's one of the biggest reasons I started looking at 3/4 tons. The half tons, you spend a fortune adding options so it can tow, 3/4 tons come with it built in. I'd rather pay for that beast of an engine than all the other add on crap.

 

I think I plan on just grabbing a gasser F250 from Tasca. When I'm ready I'll just contact my cousin that works for them and is much higher up than a salesman so he knows exactly how much to sell it to me. Plus in 2 years I'll have my wife's master's degree so usually there are educational incentives for buying new cars.

 

Or they're reasonably priced until you notice that they've got a bazillion miles on them.
Nice looking truck. Hopefully it's got a back up camera; the Super Crew F250's make the Tacoma land yachts look like little runabouts.

 

I love super duties, but I told myself for the 3 times a year I tow something, I don't need that much truck. Mine (which moved up to next Thursday now) is rated for 8100 lbs because I went with 3.73 gears, which is plenty for my needs.

 

I've actually moved on from Diesels for the time being; for as seldom as I tow anything heavier than the boat or the tractor, I don't need one. The price of diesel over gas (more than $1 a gallon around here!) more than offsets the MPG increase over a newer gasser, too, so there's not really any savings there either. I do want to upgrade the plow rig before this next winter, so I'm still looking at 3/4 tons. Just gassers.

 

I have a very easy driveway at this point. Takes me about 10 minutes with the snowblower. But that's somehow not good enough. I want an ATV with a plow for next winter, mainly because I want an ATV and that somehow helps justify it.
