I would either get some aluminum tubing or a more temporary and cheaper option would be to put a 4x4 piece of treated wood and raise your motor mount. You could also get a cheap trolling motor and when you go back into skinny water just trim up your motor and use your trolling motor.

I went to a meet in the woodlands a couple years ago. Real nice guy and had it tuned in like half an hour. Yeah he definitely suggested i do some tranny upgrades like you did and thats why it shifted a little stiff but i got used to it.

I had some exhaust work done by their contractor, Colin of Toxic Fab, yeeeeeeaaaaaars ago. That is where the NEVR sticker came from. I would see him at Lone Star drift events. Other than that, there was no association.

Not true. Some low spots on trails were complete mudholes when I went 2 years ago.

My old Silverado was tuned by Charlie Wheatley years ago, maybe 2006-2007? He or his family owned a Chevron gas station off 610 W close to the I-10 interchange. I met him there and we spent close to four hours fine-tuning everything. He and his laptop rode passenger till the tune was dialed in. It was a great tune at the time, and finally gave the 4.8 some nuts. Considering that Silverado is still on the road with a quarter million miles or more on the clock, I'd say the tune has stood the test of time.

About Wheatley, I heard he did some shady stuff and basically disappeared, likely due to the flood of customers wanting tunes / retunes (he offered at the time "free lifetime re-tunes") and not being able to keep up. Gets 'em every time.

I bet. I didn't have a lot into my chevy because i knew i was going back to toyota anyways. That sucker started up everytime with 200k miles but the 4.8l and 323 gears was just a sad combo in my opinion. It was a good beater truck for what it was.

Yeah same thing as Justin (think thats what his name was) with blackbear. Rode passenger and tinkered with some stuff. He immediately knew my throttle body was dirty so we pulled over and wiped it out so he could get a better fuel/air reading. I was pleased with it for what it was

Always liked the old square body chevy. You can either make a mud bogger or street truck.
