Oil Change Checklist / Service Record

Here is a checklist that I made up for doing an oil change. I make one for each car that I service on a regular basis. I change/add things to the list depending on the service interval, print it out and take it out to the garage.

I list things in the general order that I do them and have lots of notes (some of which will only make sense to me) to make the job easier and faster.

It makes sure I don't forget something critical , it serves as a record of the service, and best of all, it saves me from crawling under the car with the wrong size wrench!

Does Toyota use Full Synthetic oil when they change it? I never asked them when I purchased my truck. I am hoping they change the oil with full synthetic when I take it in for my first 5K service or I will be doing it myself as well.

 

Awesome can you change it to 2017 then I can print out and use this awesome check list...

 

Yes they will use synthetic, 0-20 only comes in synthetic if i remember correctly.

Toyota oil change intervals are 10K miles. I changed the oil myself at 5K & 15K, Toyota did it at 10K & 20K.

 

That's my plan too. I've done it at 4500 now, then dealer at 10,000.

I have concerns with 0W20 and that long an interval. That stuff is so thin..... I will err on the side of caution and go 8,000 km even with the added cost.

 

I went with 6,000mi on the first change, but will go 10k from here on out.
