Just got my Dr. ColorChip in the mail. Haven’t used it yet cuz it’s raining here but just curious if anyone has any experience with this stuff or have any thoughts? The color in the bottle looks very accurate to my blazing blue pearl

I've used that in the past on my old Tundra. The Metallic Jade Mica was a perfect match and if you follow the directions you will get that smooth fill they advertise.

Never hear of this stuff but want to hear how well it works. I have a lot of dings that could be filled in. All from the previous owner of course. :sadviolin:

This is a before and after of one chip. This is after two coats might have to add another one but looks really good. Very impressed with how it came out worth the money

Nice job. We’re you able to layer to level with the surrounding paint? I have never been able to get second layers to stick in the chip. Did you do any sanding on that chip repair? Looks good.

I used it on a stone chip on the front of the hood on my black '15, it worked pretty well. I was able to get it pretty level with the paint with 3 applications, then after a few weeks I polished it with my buffer, was damn near invisible.

Thanks. Yeah I got it a little layered it’s pretty close you can still feel the indent a little but not nearly as bad. No sanding although I kinda wish I tried doing that (maybe on the next one lol)

I've used this product on both my 2016 ORDC and my wife's Subaru, it does a excellent job. Much better than the blob of factory touch up paint.

I assume you swiped over the wet paint (with your finger) to flatten it into the chip as the directions say. I’m curious how long you let it dry before wiping away the excess on the surrounding clear coat. I have wondered if I have been too impatient on second/leveling coats. I usually give it about 10 min. Thanks.

Honestly it dried in about a minute or two then I wiped it n reapplied a second coat directly after.

Never used this stuff, as I've said, but the videos show almost the guy immediately wiping the paint, and then using the liquid bonding (or whatever) on a microfiber cloth. Is there different methods?

Nope. That’s the process. It seems to dry pretty quickly. I have just not had much success building the repair up to nearly level with the surrounding paint. My experience. Others must be better at it. Patience is not my best quality. I always worry about letting it dry too long and then having to fight to remove the excess from the surrounding paint and creating new swirls or scratches from rubbing too hard.

    Not enough to list
I always let it dry for 24hrs. If it's still to soft. The leveling solution can pull the paint out of the chip. Is it harder to get off in 24hrs? Yes, but the paint within the chip will be harder thus harder to pull out of the chip
