update for non-resident concealed handgun license in Oregon. I called Grant County Sheriffs office in John day. That sheriff will issue to non-residents, no appointment needed, hunters ed is good enough to qualify. It's just a real long drive if you have no other business way out there. Luckily I visit family there.

In the past 2 days ive been to the gun store twice.

1st day- I was looking for a glock 26 in blue label, gen 5. It still isn't available. Looked at other guns, ended up walking out empty handed.

2nd day- went to buy some factory glock mags, ended up getting 3 magpul pMags (17,17,21). Then i started looking at the CZ's.

I figured out i really like the P-01, the 2075 rami, and the P-01 tactical suppressor ready in grey. The P-07 controls were just too hard for me to reach.

I really wanted to look at the Springfield armory RO elite compact, but it was in a separate case in the middle, and to be honest i knew if i liked it, i would buy it.

It's not about deterring crime, it's about MMMMmmmmmfffff....
    MMMMMMMFfmfmffffffffff...

Oh, right. Politics. Can't finish that sentence.
    BACK TO GUNS!

People with Crimson Trace Laser Grips: How long do you find that your batteries last? I know you get a free set every year, but mine don't last that long. Maybe it's because I'm training regularly with the carry gun, but mine seem to go about 8-9 months before they start to dim. Not the end of the world, just curious if anybody else is having this problem, or if I'm maybe inadvertently pressing the button with my belt or something while it's holstered.

I actually have two; one is a DeSanctis that offers a more secure fit but isn't quite as comfortable, and the other is a Talon that is more comfortable but doesn't hold quite as tight against the body (So it prints more) so I usually wear that one if I'm wearing a jacket.

    Edit-
    Holster #2 sits like this:

Which is why I'm thinking that maybe my belt or a loop is bumping the laser button. I carry small-of-back, and contrary to popular belief, my head isn't in a position to see if the laser turns on at all while I'm carrying, so I can't confirm the theory

On the front of the grip, right below the trigger guard. Where your middle finger lands when you grip the gun.

Could be turning on when you holster it. Looks like it would hit right on the button when you put the pistol in the holster unless theres a gap there. Would be easy to look at your holster and look inside and see if theres rub marks there where the laser button is possibly hitting.

No, the holster clears it; I've already checked that.

I'm on a few. My work laptop blocks most of them, and since I refuse to travel with 2 laptops, I'm not very active on any of them.

For self defense, I like warriortalk.com and ParagonPride.com. Gabe Suarez (owner of Warriortalk) is more than a little controversial and is about selling training, goods, and services, plus he can come across as a bit of a dick, but there is good info to be found (and good training and products). ParagonPride is comprised mostly of former Suarez instructors and others that have tired of Gabe. I used to be on DefensiveCarry.net, but got tired of the Fuddery (same with AR15.com).

For the AR platform, I prefer M4Carbine.net over any other, but mostly read. The majority of that community are professional door kickers, and they can be little snobby towards "civilians" but there is a lot of valuable info to be found.

I can't think of any others off the top of my head.
