I love how your truck has developed. Awesome! I own a white 2011 Tacoma TRD Sport DCSB. I'm torn between getting copper/bronze wheels or black. The copper looks nice with the blue.

My wheels were previously on a white truck. They looked REALLY good. You honestly couldn't get wrong with either of those color. White goes with anything!

Thanksgiving weekend I took a good friend from Michigan hunting for slot canyons in the Grand Staircase National Monument area. Did I mention this friend is also a professional photographer?? (Instagram: @remarkableretouching)

And then we hiked a very narrow slot canyon.

And stopped for coffee at this adorable coffee shop in Boulder, Utah.

Thank you! It can be exhausting sometimes to get out as often as I do but I can't say I've ever regretted it. There's so much left to explore Thanks for stopping by. :D

February 7- 10 - King of the Hammers Trip

TJ Harvey Racing competed in their very first Ultra4 King of the Hammers - the world's toughest offroad 4x4 rock racing event - and I had the opportunity to be a part of the crew! Three days of extreme dust, heat, decked out machines, engine snarls and suspension porn, it was an absolute offroader's paradise.
Although our team was unable to finish the race, only about 10% of competitors do, there was still pride in showing up and giving it their best. We all learned a ton, from the driver/co-pilot to the crew tightening down bolts on race day. Next year will be even better.

Among being the chase truck with the fuel, I was also asked to be the media crew. This was my video contribution of our race team.

On our way home from King of the Hammers, we decided to head North through California to check a few locations off our list.

    Trona Pinnacles was up first.

    The sunset was incredible!

    20180209_173701.jpg

I also made a quick video of the sunrise at the pinnacles.

By the way, if you guys can give a follow to my media YouTube account Overlanding Expeditions that would seriously mean the world to me. Or leave a comment on the videos. I love the feedback.

The other place to check off the list was Area 51.

Yeah it ended up being the damn fuel regulator. The dealership had my truck for six weeks, completely replaced the transmission, fixed a leaking rear main, cleaned a few sensors and it was still acting up. Replaced the fuel regulator and it has yet to act up again. :notsure: Maybe I should write up something in case someone else runs into the same issue.

And no I didn't go on that trip. I decided to go home and visit family. Looked like a really fun trip though!

So Ronin is basically new is what you are saying!

I didn't either. Took my other offroad mistress to Colorado to play around instead. Ended up sharing a campsite with a guy from BC named Francois. Just spent 5 weeks in Baja and was moseying his way back home. He seconded a lot of Bud's recommendations from our turkey fry campfire the last night. Got the gears turning for me...

I bet that was still a fun trip. There will be MANY more trips this year to attend. What part of Colorado did you go to?

    Fruita/GJ. Great riding out there!

Hoping to lift this thing before too much longer to make those trips a little comfier. :transformer:

Probably Bilstein 6112s and 5160s. I want Fox or Kings, but saving for a house is more important to me. I'm tired of modding in the parking lot :welder:

That's why you find friends with a garage! I can't even begin to afford a house right now. The market is beyond out of my reach and off my radar. Therefore I'll keep skydiving and buying truck parts...

Like new gears and a rear locker. :D

Followed immediately by an extremely custom leaf conversion in the rear. Brain child of Noah.

Looks like you found a good arrangement where you live now though. I may be moving in with a few friends to a place in Sugarhouse with a ballin' garage this summer.

People like Noah and Dan are dangerous friends to have! Plus Miles to enable all of your bad thoughts about what you should do to your truck.

Add 3 mountain bikes in the mix, and its worse than a drug habit!

I hear you loud and clear on that one. I wouldn't trade those friends for the world though.

Your mountain bike hobby is probably equivalent to my skydiving. Except once you buy a bike you can ride anywhere for free basically. I still have to pay a pilot to drop me off at altitude.

    Me neither!

Regarding the bikes, I keep telling myself that...but brakes wear out and things need serviced and on and on...Then you buy your second bike...and more things happen...and then you buy your third bike and now you need a full face and a neck brace which are $$$ because they are for mtn bikes and we are dumb enough to pay what they ask...I think my truck may be cheaper month to month than my bikes.

But then you figure out a setup like ours that jives and then you can just drive out into the desert, setup camp, and ride all weekend on the cheap. Kevin B and I rode for 2.5 days and I spent 0 dollars apart from some groceries and gas to get to Hurricane.
