yeah I'm pretty sure they're all lexan. if you're trying to shave weight, don't they still sell FG hoods fenders and hatches? man this is giving me the itch to have a project car..hahaha.

King, TC +2"LT, 35's, Aluminum this and that.
I think the DC2 Type R was only 120 or so lbs lighter.
Insulation removed, radio, clock, cruise control, smaller battery, rear wiper removed, aluminum radiator, aluminum driver side torque mount bracket. Some weight added back though, seats, LSD, sway bars, brakes, rear bumper area reinforcement, thicker exhaust hangers, front lip, rear wing. Those JDM HID ballasts aren't light.

    There's more I can't remember.

wikipedia states a net loss of 93lbs for what its worth. rough estimate at least.

im not really concerned with the weight of the car. just interesting to keep track of

wheel bearing went bad from towing it home without the axle. ordered new bearings today. power steering rack boot is cut and might be leaking on the passenger side. leaking at the reservoir so i need to fix that as well with the proper 1/2 ID hose (5/8 hose wont quite seal correctly) :frusty:

raised the front suspension up quite a bit yesterday but i want to get it driving to see if it settles a little before an alignment again

i have a leak somewhere though with all the rain we have been getting, its wet in the hatch again.

passenger axle measured 1/2 inch short according to hasport as well so i think the inner tripod is at its limit. i sent an email to insane to see what they say.

Changed out the passenger axle to a 06-11 civic si from Oreilly for the time being. its the correct length.

found a bad balljoint while doing that so i have two new oem ones to put in. ended up selling the ktuned immobilizer so that isnt wasted money sitting around.

ordered hard race upper control arms. then ill get an alignment after those come in.

definitely could have had a much nicer car. probably would have been a s2000 or i could have paid a huge chunk of the new civic type r :bananadead:. just cant let this project not get 100% and itll never be worthwhile to sell so i might as well get it done. in the end ill have a near new 93 integra, hahaha.

i was looking at porsches the other day though..

ah that makes sense. i would have thought traffic would wreak havoc on them in the climate still.

These Integra builds are killing me. I picked this up in June from a friend of mine who owns a tow company for $1,000. It was for my ex (obviously wasn't at the time) to drive until she saved up enough to get her own ride or buy it from me.

2001 w/ 138K miles. Unfortunately an automatic because she cantcdrive a stick. Got side swiped by a lady right before Christmas and "totalled" it. $3300 and give the car up or $2900 and keep the car.

So... Yeah, I kept it. Lol.

I keep telling myself to leave it the hell alone and drive it... But it's getting harder to resist. :anonymous:

It's crossed my mind, and I've actually researched it. One of those "I might do it one day" things.

I'm thinking for now a little tint, some bronze or gold wheels, and maybe an inch or two lower and I'll be happy. It's honestly in such good shape I don't want to mess with it too much.

good looking car though  im glad you saved it from the wrecker

im sure the automatic makes it feel a little sluggish. tint and do the meshie wheels bronze. those are my favorite stock wheels, i have them sitting in my garage. picture is not my wheels. although i would like to do that.

Honestly it's actually not too bad. I mean, it's absolutely not fast in any way. But it's not scary to pull out into traffic or anything. I've done all the maintenance to it. New fuel filter, timing belt, plugs, wires, cap, rotor button... it runs absolutely mint. Like you can't even tell the motor is running half the time. So that's a strong reason I keep telling myself not to eff with it. Do kinda wish it was VTEC though.

And funny you mentioned bronzing the factory meshies... check out the two cans of plasti-derp on the toolbox in the last picture. I actually bought those to do my Methods on the Tacoma, but I never got the balls to do it, cause I couldn't decide what color, and after I bough them I started having second thoughts about it. I'm thinking the Integra might get it though. After all, it's a "totalled" beater.

I mean, the problem with me saying "fast" is that I grew up around all the import guys, but I never owned one. I was always into mini-trucks.

This, at 35 years old, is my first Honda. But we were K-swapping hatchbacks almost before anyone else, at least on the east coast. I'm talking like 12-15 years ago. I remember having to stand on straps on the dyno so my friend's hatchback could hook up better (I'm a big boy). Ever been sprayed by hot rubber while you're standing inches from a K20 making 900+ horsepower? The happiest and scariest moment of my life.

And no, not a rebuilt title. I'm still not sure how I got out of that one, but I just shut up. Basic story is, I got side swiped, adjuster came out, they called me and said it was totaled, and told me they'd give me like $3200. I told them I wanted to keep the car (because honestly, it just needed a fender, I could live with the marks). They told me salvage value was $300, so they'd give me a check for $2900 if I kept the car.

Told them to send the check. :D

Then the lady said something about they wouldn't need to do anything with the title because of the age of the car. I honestly don't know, but the title never left my possession, so technically, it's still clean.

I bought a fender for $20, bought some paint and 2K clear from Automotive Touchup .com, glued the mirror back together, sprayed them both in my driveway. Used a trick I learned from my dad (he's a painter) on the plastic transfer on the rest of the car. Little lacquer thinner on a rag and some wax, and as you can see, just the little scratches and a couple dimples are left.

And that's the journey of my $1,000.00 Integra.

technically this is my 4th honda. being a teenager and not having a full time job until college (which i ended up selling my integra by this point) meant i didnt have money to do much to them. id love to throw a turbo on this car and get like 500hp but thats another rabbit hole to go down.

i was under the impression that unless you let them take the car then it didnt get branded. :notsure: worked out for you though. ill be furious if someone hits mine after all this work.
