that's why I like the High Desert , maybe if most 2 weeks of of 110 ° during the summer and the rest of the time high 80's low 90's . Sundowner winds in the late afternoon to cool off

The winter time with possible snow and colder temps plus strong Southerly winds

Great day here today. Wednesday got windy and cold as crap. Wind had died down yesterday morning but it was 32*. Beautiful now and 68.

Been past it several times, but have not stopped. Can’t say it’s a place I’d want to live out my days at. It’s hot and dry in SW UT. It’s hotter and drier down there.

I did!! I havent been to the races sine Gator Nationals in about 2004... husband has never been and I wanted to show him.

I could be a snow bird if I found the two right places. Currently searching OR/WA and Northern NM.

They’re hoping to claim some of the folks that are headed just up the road to St George UT. One of the fastest growing areas in the US right now and most are retirees.

I’m already missing the high desert of the eastern Sierra... Zion and SW Utah is beautiful but the Sierra has my heart.

Visited Zion last Sep. Did the tourist bit, stopped by an outfitters in Springdale, got some water boots and then hiked the Narrows. Want to go back but this year Yellowstone is on the wish list.

Hard to beat the flavor. I like my other pot better, though. But someone took it out of the camper...

Because it was growing on top of the water and gas lines, it had to go, we stopped fighting it. The bigger one in back is dying and has to go as well.

    How old?

We lost one of our Walnuts a few years ago. They ran a third power line down our street and trimming it back would’ve took more than half.

Eventually you have to give up, but it doesn't make it easier. Fought those battles with white birch around here. Blue Spruce is next but not until the last possible moment. Nature will always win.

At least the Andy Gump still looks intact. When it is finally over I am sure you will enjoy the addition. Hope the rock growing is over too, I know that soil type too well.

    I will count rings...later
My guess is about 50 years old. The termites and drought did them no favors

Try making coffee with minimal equipment and supplies !!

We did this quite a few years ago in the Mojave Desert during a 4x4 outing

We forgot the coffee pot , filters so we improvised as we had a lg dutch oven pot .we filled the dutch oven with water , poured the coffee grounds in then used a branch from an ironwood tree to stir boiling water /coffee over the camp fire

When it came time to serve we used an extra coffee cup as a ladle then used a bandana over ea of our own cups to filter the coffee grounds . at 0630hrs when we served the coffee it woke us all up very quickly and even had left over coffee grounds in our cups
