I have to agree to what you said in HOs..... Coco Fab bumper looks clean AF on his truck.... your new bumper on your rig and your old one now on his rig are a win win

I recently completely a solo trip on the allegenhy shanandoah overland loop availible on outbound overlands website. The new 4.88 gears were amazing on the highway, fully armored and loaded for the trip the truck drove effortlessly staying in 5th gear even on hills and I averaged roughly 17.3 mpg over the entire trip. 4lo was even more amazing. Overall it was an awesome trip but being alone was taxing on the mind for sure but also humbling. The route had 3 river crossings, a dozen or so small creek crossings, huge elevation changes and some phenomanal views. Well worth the trip. I took dozens of photos but here are some of the highlights.

Then exactly one week later the truck has transformed from a full on adventure vehicle to a full on work truck. This is my main motivation for wanting to go with a flatbed and canopy setup. The flatbed will be much better for side work and the when a trip is coming up I could drop the already loaded canopy on the bed and go. Get back and lift the canopy off and be ready for work again. Another moment where the 4.88’s really shine hauling these loads of wood effortlessly. Pretty impressive being a 4 banger. Regearing is the gift that keeps on giving

Little update. Led the NJ homies on a fantastic trip to Virginia for @Chux birthday. Basically a repeat trip I did last year with my brother to the bald mountain track, then a section of the blue ridge parkway, up to reddish and flagpole knob, then ran a section of the loop I did in April to an awesome camp site tucked in along a creek.

Also @Chux started tying his own soft shackles and got me hooked on it aswell. It seems like an impossible task at first but now the knot just flows off the finger tips lol

Are the sides you added under the tent covering the bed waterproof (or resistant)? Or just for security?

The main goal was security for a trip last January. My girlfriend and I went on a cruise out of Miami, but we made plans to explore and camp on the way down and way home so I closed in the bed rack so nothing went missing while my truck was parked for 5 days. It’s actually surprisingly weather “resistant” if you will. Rain will still get in but it more or less trickles down the sides of the bed and goes under the rubber mat. Then it goes out the back or out the drain holes in the front. So basically I just keep the stuff that can’t get wet towards the middle and it’s fine. My camp chairs and duffel bag made it through a couple rain showers on our way from Florida without getting wet back there. It’s also helps keeping fire wood dry and it cuts down on some of the dust that gets on my stuff, and allows me to get some gear out of the cab

So a little update. Nothing major as far as the truck is concerned. It’s been put on the back burner for a while as I take on my new project. In its current state the truck is plenty capable and set up for camping so I’ve still been getting trips in just no new mods. As of October 31st this has been taking most of my time

Did a return trip to Va with a few of the guys that couldn’t make the June trip we did and cooked up some fresh caught crawfish.

Also got to make some fresh tracks after a snow storm with a few of the guys. That turned out to be a slushy, sloppy tire spinning winchfest but was awesome

Also the gf joined the Toyota family and picked up a brand new 2018 leftover Rav4. It’s not a forerunner but it’s still a nice vehicle. Wayyyy wayyy too many fancy electronic features for my taste but she loves it. It’s definetly a weight off the shoulders with her having AWD now since I have to be at work whenever it snows.
