Well fuck me. Spent a good portion of today installing the sPod and of course there is an issue.

First off it is a total bitch to get a cable with an RJ45 end on it through the grommet that the main wiring harness goes through. I finally did get it though but in the process I think I damaged the cable or the cable was already damaged.

The touchscreen powers on but it flickers a bit, doesn't show battery voltage or sPod temp, or actually activate the switches.
So to troubleshoot I unmounted the touch screen from where I had it and took a standard Ethernet cable and plugged it into the source and sure enough it worked just fine.

Im done fucking with it for the day but I guess tomorrow I will cut the ends off the current cable, pull a new cable with some CAT6 I have in the garage and then terminate the ends.

In retrospect I should have just used the CAT6 cable I had in the first place.

 

Yeah now that I know its just CAT5/6 with standard pinout makes it a lot easier.
I did cut the boot some to get it through.

 

Good to know when it's my time to install my sPod

Pulled a new cable which is so much easier when you can use the old one as a pull cable. Didn't have to drop the headliner this time.
