Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Mat did dyno and optimize the 87 map.
There isn’t any room unless you want your engine to detonate.

 

I commute every morning 19 miles each way highway and traffic. Running 87 1.03C tune with 92 in the tank (trying it). 87 tune seems to serve my needs just fine and I am averaging 17mpg with 400lbs of mods

My v6 needs more powaaa. Damn it i should bought a tundra. Then ide be making threads called how to calm my v8 down

 

I doubt that. LOL You need the V8 power just to haul that extra big body that the Tundra has.

Heck, even my old M3 needed more power...you can never have enough!!!

 

I do really wish they offered a V8 in the tacoma

4.7L v8 ...... that would be awsome in the tacoma

 

You will need a swap to get a V8
That’s why although still far away Force Induction would be the option.

 

Really nice engine. Doesn’t lack power anywhere. A few years ago we drove up to Waco to bring our son home from Baylor. I drove the 4R towing a U-haul and my wife followed with my son in his Mustang. About a hundred miles or so from home she gets pulled over doing 90 mph. The trooper asked if she was following the 4R and she said yes. He says call him and tell him to slow down. She asked why he pulled her over and he replied because she was in a sports car.

 

Ditto. 08 T4R v8 here. My only regret is getting it in 2wd . Bought it back when I didn't care at all about off roading and whatnot. It was just convenient to have the space. Now I really wish I had got one with 4x4

I do have to say though, you learn A LOT about wheeling and off roading when you're trying to hang with everybody else in a 2wd truck lol

 

Since we’re all just passing time with daydreams, I think that the 2.0t from the IS200t would be a good option. I have no experience with it but the ovtuned torque curve looks awesome.

 

Did Mat die? Wasn’t there supposed to be a tune update released! I’m worried

I’d settle for a turbo charged v6
