    Aloha,

I have been searching the forums for a little bit but seeing as I finally got myself a taco I find worthy of investing my money into as far as aftermarket parts I decided to finally make an account!

To start off as the title says I recently bought a 2003 Toyota Tacoma Off Road SR5 with 4x4 and pretty much all the options i can think of like rear diff, power windows/locks, 97k miles, clean carfax.. I saw it for sale at my gym parking lot and turns out the guys uncle lived on Maui and was the original owner! they gave me a stack of papers for all the service records done at the dealer and i even found the original window sticker in the pile! just over $29k brand new in 2003!

anyways I ordered some 285/75r16 BFG KO2's on good friday (last week) along with some 16x8 Mickey Thompson Classic III's in black, I am very excited to put these on but want to make sure I do the lift right... I am looking for a lift with about 4 inches all around and the best one I can find that yields 2.5-3 inches is the OME with 882's and Dakar rear leaf spring pack..

I've never lifted a truck before and im a noob so please be easy on me ha but I want to do this right and not cut corners as far as ride quality etc! that reminds me I am planning on UCA's as well this is what i was looking at, is there a discount code for Tacoma World members for these folks?

    https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/s...it_w/_Dakar_Leaf_Pack_-_1998-2004_Tacoma.html

total for the lift is lookin like $1796.99 plus shipping cost since I live in Hawaii, do I message them for a quote?

Aloha and I appreciate everyones help suggestions in advance!

that's really cool you got it from an original owner with all records. I didn't even know they went that high in price back then.

Welcome to TW...If you want to go 4 inches or more you’ll most likely have to do a drop bracket lift which is what I did. A lot of guys on here don’t want to go that route because other type lifts are better suited for trail rides, but 3 inches is pretty much max so it all comes down to needs and wants.

ohhh ok yea that makes sense! no wonder nobody was posting about 4 inches in the OME threat I was reading... hm yea I was thinking of trying to just stick to the OME Springs/shocks to gain my lift but can I add an extra 1 inch spacer on top of the front coils to get me there. I appreciate your quick response though it helped me understand why I could not find anyone posing about exactly what I was looking for

I don’t know if you can do that either...It’s all about keeping the right angle on drive shaft and axles,a lot of stuff to factor in.
