We sold my wife’s Kia to car max. Felt they gave us a similar reasonable offer. Not too dollar by any means but more then I would have expected to get as a trade in. I could have gotten more selling private party... but we were pressed for time as we were moving across the country and didn’t want to pay to ship it.

I did notice walking there lot that many of the cars were priced more then I would pay for them... part of their no haggle deal no doubt.... pay a little more for a good car and sell it for a little more as well

    Haha, pretty much!
I did notice that their pricing seemed a bit on the high side. They had almost the twin to the truck i’m going to look at on their lot but gas model. It was the same price as the diesel... it had a slightly lower miles but not nearly enough to justify that sort of swing.

Also, I found out why the diesel is a good deal, it was a fleet vehicle... not sure yet if I care as all of the expensive parts are warrantied for the next 70k miles but definitely a negotiation tool I suppose.

I might actually want this. We have a place on a lake in Maine, I don't like driving the motor boat cause of all the huge rocks in the lake and I only know where about 90% of them are. Our dogs literally try to commit suicide when they see us kayak around the lake and can't come. Last year I was looking for a cheap ass boat and a tiny engine but was put off by how expensive little ass engines are.

How heavy is this? Could i just tie it down to the regular trailer I have now, and pick it up to bring it to the water with my wife?

Bed at like 230am, at Nissan for a recall at 730am. Sleep is overrated.

I had gone to a few used car dealer and carmax and they were all really close to each other. I think the difference was like 200.00. I went to dealer and worked him for another 500 when I made my deal

CarMax can sometimes do a little higher than a dealership because they have so many outlets to unload it. But if it's a desirable car, ou let's say your reading a BMW to a BMW dealership, the dealership should be competitive

You have to weigh out what you're getting from them vs what you'd save in sales tax credit

Also, CarMax uses kbb instant cash offer in their process, lots of dealers use the same software

    I mean… it’s a Ford, you don’t care
It’s not too heavy. But definitely requires two people to move. I brought it home on a snowmobile trailer from my uncles house and it was fine. My wife helped me
Move it in to the garage and out a couple times. It can be made lighter by removing the fishing platform too! PM me and we’ll talk more about it!

Morning all. A bit cold and dreary out. Yet another weekend of puttering around the basement or garage.

@Cativelense, not to rehash your Friday but the advice is spot on. Give just enough of a crap to do a good job but not so much to get stressed over. It took me a looooong time to learn that - still struggle at times.

    Morning everyone. Happy Saturday

Problem is, I can't do that... I think, or like to think, that I do a good job and take pride in that, so I give a crap. It's just the way I am.

Yes, yes, I fully understand grasshopper...

I was the same way. Put myself in the hospital via ambulance once from work back in 1998. Thought I was having a heart attack. Heavy stress. Even that didn't make much of a change but it did start it. After a few more episodes over the years and seeing what it was doing to my daughter, I've learned to 'let go'. You can't change other people. If something has to be completed, I stay and get it done. Otherwise, out the door I go at quitting time. Heck, I'll stop in mid sentence on an email or report. It'll be there tomorrow. I just keep a running list of what's on the plate. Enough to show I have more work that can be expected to be completed in a day. I've told a former boss that broke my stones on not completing all this extra work that no one can do the work of several people to the expectation that I put on myself and that you would want.

Here's what I told him "I come into work whistling Dixie with a shovel on my shoulder. Do you want me to shovel sand or shit? I can do one or the other, but if you want both at the same time, I'll just mix them together".

Actually used a similar line with my new boss who regularly reminds me she is a West Point grad. I told her one day "I can dig a fox hole or a latrine, but if bot are needed at the same time, we're going to be jumping into a stinky fox hole. So which deliverable do you want first?"

It's your work ethic. Trust me, I know. Thank your parents for making you neurotic and not settling for second best - I do regularly...

Well, I think we've made great progress in this week's session... :D

    Is he an electrician?

    Or from a cable company?

No I got it, he's a painter! Must be the color blind guy that paints commercial buildings or condos IN WHITE ONLY!
