After talking with a few dealers and a company rep, the insulation on them is fine for seasonal use and for those who hunt good weather. However for me, it is looking that the insulation that is provided on them is not going to be enough. Unfortunately, the options that I asked if they can do are not available. Which is really annoying because the quality of them far surpassed the other trailers I've looked at.

Looks like cipa compatibility with tacomas ends with 2009

Hopefully they will get to making the molded ones for the 3rd gens. Looking through a search, looks like either the clamp on ones or the ones with the rubber strap would be the only option.
    Sorry I can't help.

I tow a 2017 Micro Minnie 1700BH. It is 3,000lbs before I load it. Last time I passed through the port of entry in Monticello, UT I stopped on the scales. It was 3,478lbs. My 2016 DCSB TRD OR does just fine. I avg around 12mpg. I tow all over the Mtns in SW Colorado.

Thanks. What do they charge to do the scales?

I can't speak for CO or NV, but in OR you can weigh at any of the dept of transportation scales. No cost. Just pull in off the highway and drive onto the scale. They do have speed limits. Follow the speed limit on the approach and on the scales.
Here, they aren't run by police but often have a State Trooper either at the scale or close.

I stopped when the port was closed, but they leave the scales on. There is huge display board that gives the weight. I have never stopped when it was open.

I've never seen custom CIPA mirrors available for a 2nd gen Tacoma, I looked in the past and would have purchased them for my 2007. I'm currently using these: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/clip-on-towing-mirror-0362591p.html#srp This is the third vehicle I've used them on, it was the only thing I could find back when I started towing a tent trailer with my Mustang GT. They are better than nothing but I wouldn't say that I recommend them for the Tacoma, especially at $50 CAD each here in Canada. At least in the US, you can pick up something similar from etrailer for $16 each http://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Towing-Mirrors/CIPA/7070.html and give it a try without investing too much.

I've read good things about these: https://www.amazon.com/Dometic-DM-2912-Milenco-Towing-Mirror/dp/B019YJCBF4 but I have no first hand experience. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/extended-towing-mirrors.450474/#post-13202511

Hey guys I own a 2016 Tacoma trd off-road and I tow my 2018 Forrest River wolf pup. The camper itselfs weighs around 3000 pounds and it's 21 feet long. The Tacoma pulls it well but the gas mileage is crappy in open highway with lots of wind resistance (10.5mpg). However when i took backroads and mostly covered highway I got around (13.5mpg). Anyone considering getting a 21 footer do it, it's not bad however in my opinion the max I would tow on this truck is 5000 pounds even though it's rated at 6800. If you plan on towing anything heavier, I'd recommend a tundra

I tow my 21 footer pretty well I do have a break controller, weight distribution and anti sway. I'm estimating about 5k #'s loaded...

I thought our 4x4s were rated at 6400#? I think 6800# was for a 2 wheel drive model.
