    You might be thinking of 2nd gens?

    It does appear on the installation instructions that it comes with a new "crossmember" where the skid plate mounts to. The trailgear bumper does this as well. I think they have to do this since this "crossmember" bolts to the bumper brackets and the brackets are replaced with most aftermarket bumpers.

    Nope, had a ARB on my old 4runner. Skid plates attach to the stock mounting position.
