Easiest way is to start a thread to keep track of whose going. but short notice trips can sometimes be small groups. also separate threads are nice for pics and future reference. here is fine as well but it will get lost in the pages quick. if you start a thread i can change the link.

No it was mid July so it was dry, they hadn't cleared the boulders or rounded the creek bed til sep from what I saw though so it was pretty gnarly getting through. Literally the second month I had my truck so it was a good little test

I might be able to make this date work! Been too long and I washed the rig a week ago. Then it rained. She's too clean

Edit - just found out my gf has a family event on Saturday so wheeling will have to wait till the next time

Curious what Black Rock is looking like these days. Want to try to catch it whiles there's still some water on the playa, but still enough dry area to camp on. Also just want to explore more of the area.

This was last year in June, but there was a lot more rain last year too.

If you get a chance in that area. There was a mountain called Poodle mnt. In that area there might be some antelope and mustangs. Old 2 tracks in the area. Hadn’t been there in 20 years. Definitely a dry camp

In the last 20 years the area around Black Rock has become a preserve and a lot of trails closed. Most are still open. But chances are if it was a faint 2-track 20-years ago it's closed now.

We did Black Rock in July 2010. Interesting place.
Avoid it in the last week of August (Burning Man festival).

Its like Bonneville salt flats. Fun to go fast. My rig was not built for speed, so 55 was as fast as I was comfortable.

Lots of the wilderness areas have access roads that you can still drive on as the boundaries are on either side of the road.
