Long Travel BS Thread

Question my people. What leaf springs do y’all like? What should I pair with SUA and 14” bypasses?

 

I should mention they’re going with archives shackles

 

They're going to be specific to what sua kit you go with - 2nd gen options are Total Chaos, Archive Garage (?), Camburg, Giant, and DMZ. You've got to make that decision first. The first 2 options are really still mid-travelish and the last 3 are "true" long travel. Each will usually have two choices of leaf springs - normal duty and heavy duty.

Edit: - if you're going with Archive I'd ask considering your weight you carry and intended uses for the truck and see what they recommend.

 

Yeah I was thinking archive, but there’s not much of a cost difference going to camburg. What would you suggest with 14” or more on the bypasses?

No one who installed their properly kit on here has had any negative feedback on it so far unless they ended up linking their truck, which I don't think you're interested in doing - I can't say that for any other kit that I've read about on here in 3+ years.

Plus Tim (DMZ) sells a great bed cage with it for less than you could buy the tools and materials to build yourself that makes installing it much easier!

Try jacking the driver side up more, should line up, I had the same problem when I took it all apart.
edit: it was an there at one point before this so just keep messing with it till it lines up.

 

If the perches are where they should be, yeah a jack and ratchet straps will get you good.

We got it. Put in a bolt backward and now it's like this

 

So the question is, how the fack can I get that bolt off with minimum tear down?

 

Gotta learn somehow. Can't afford to Right now

 

Minimum tear down? You need to clean those perches off that axle and weld new ones in the proper location

The question was more about how to take that bolt off with minimum bullshit, so I can drive it to your shop?
