Anything that was shiny is now black
I was going to plastidip it today so it matches everything else I have since it’s gray and everything else is black.. I saw the two bolts that hold it on... is there anything else?

I believe it's held in by clips.

If you're talking about the unpainted plastic lip just under your license plate it's actually part of the bumper cover. You'll need to paint it in place.

I know from destroying my bumper over a while back...

I don't think that is accurate @ACEkraut didn't you just replace this part on your neighbor's truck?

While I have the piece for my friend's truck to replace I have not done so yet. Busy schedule and damned non-spring like cold weather.

The short answer is that the valance piece is removable and I do not believe you will need to remove any bolts to remove the actual valance. That is not to say that you may not need to remove several other pieces to remove the valance. I am not sure what access will be available behind the valance in order to release the necessary clips. It may be necessary to remove the grille, and/or bumper cover as well. Others on TW have been there and done that so I am sure someone can chime in.

Below are pictures from the valance I have. The first is the overall valance looking at the back of it. There are three different places that the valance attaches at. Two types are part of the valance itself and just attach by pushing the valance in place. The third is the blue clip and those must be removed and reinserted when reinstalling. Here are the pictures, one of the whole valance and the rest of the different types of clips.

If that piece was originally black, you could just put a coating on it occasionally that makes it black again. I've used plastidip before, and it eventually fades too, gets rock chips and starts to peel.

Make sure not to break the blue clips.
