I do it occassionally depending on what it is. The local gravel guys have something called ABC and Recycled ABC. They actually add a small amount concrete from the concrete trucks when they clean out into the 3/4" minus. Recycled ABC is ground up concrete slab and curb, asphalt grindings and 3/4" minus. Really great stuff. A little water and compaction and it makes a great dirt pad or road surface. Doesn't lock up like a concrete pad but is a whole lot stable than the usual silt common to the area.

I’m still not 100% sure What I'm going to do with securing the blocks. I do have the mason quickcrete.

With the vib from the gen I really think I need to try and secure the whole pad as one.
So whichever way I go I appreciate everyone’s input.

I also think I may use the Crete to make tire chocks and foot retainers so the gen won’t walk.
Not sure if it will work but been thinking of that too.

Our Wilderness guy at work uses a lot of that synthetic boards. They work great for concrete forms, so I'd imagine they'd work really well for containment around those. Wouldn't have to worry about them soaking up water or rotting anytime in the next 30 years. They cut just like lumber, though I would recommend drilling a pilot hole for screwing them together....just throwing it out there.
