Stressful wasn't the word I heard...

 

Basic AF. Waiting patiently for @Bentrodder to work his magic on my 4xinnovations rear bumper. In the meantime, just took her to the car wash for the first time in forever and she’s clean as a whistle inside finally. It’s also nice to see out the back window too lol. Where’s my Starbucks?

Now that I'm convinced I like rolling 35s, I decided to treat the taco to some new shoes

Falken Wildpeak MT 315/70/17 (ok, not full 35s but close enough)

 

Wasn't my first choice...but damn if the price point and reviews aren't fantastic. I'm pretty excited to put them through their paces!

Took a quick weekend trip with @LTDSC and my buddy Dave with a 2014 4Runner Trail Premium. Dave's 4Runner that just got primo mid travel treatment with Fox 2.5 extended travel front shocks w/ DSC, Total Chaos UCAs, Tundra rear Fox 2.5 extended travel shocks modified for 4Runners by AccuTune, Superflex HD rear coils, @SCSPerformance SR8s in gunmetal, 285/70/17 Falken AT3Ws and RCI sliders. We picked it up from the shop Friday afternoon, packed our trucks, and headed out Saturday morning with Sam.

It's been a couple years since I've been up to Poker Flat, but it's just as mellow and fun as I remembered. There's beautiful views from the trail and the Saddleback lookout, lots of hill climbing, a few miles of slow and rocky "watch your sidewalls" climbs and descents, and a little water crossing that was pretty shallow this weekend. Overall, it was a mucho enjoyable trip and the 4Runner did great with all its new bells and whistles.

Also installed my rear King Tundra OEM extended travel shocks. Had to take a grinder to the lower heims to make them fit, but once they did it was A-OK. The resi on the passenger side is also facing forward, so one of these days I'm going to have to fix that. I'll also probably end up replacing the lower heims with Tacoma ones to be safe, although there is plenty of beef left in them after grinding them down. All in all, for 11" travel rear shocks off the shelf, no complaints here!

Also been slowly making this 2nd gen 4Runner my own. Threw a new little single-din Pioneer unit in there so I can play music from my phone and hands-free calling, etc. etc. since it's now my daily driver. Slowly catching up on the short list of maintenance items as well. For 220K miles, it's in pretty good shape...but I just make sure to check the oil now.

Did a big thing today. Picked up a brute force fab front bumper with a smitty 12k pound winch from @916TacoTruck and damn does it look sexy





Now just gotta fill those holes with some new lights

Had to burn a vacation day, since I apparently work too much. Took advantage of the time off to do a couple odds and ends, like put my 0* bag in my new Freespirit Recreation High Country 55" tent, install my TRD seat covers, mount my @Iggy LED pods on my Brute Force Fab front bumper, and install the latches on my Brute Force rear high clearance bumper (ignore the mess that is my garage).
