No I welded some mandrel bent tubing

 

Nice. How's it secured to the A pillar and inside the fender?

 

I used double sided tape and self tapping screws on the a pillar and a brace and clamp to the fende apron. Seems solid enough

 

So how was boogie getting along? Is he really banned til May?

 

Boogie's doing good. He's really banned until May. He's still reading. He just can't post.

 

Loving the Taco over the JKU. Between stock performances, the Taco handles much more comfortably. I lifted the Jeep 3.5" with 35" tires, and it was actually rode smoother than stock, but the taco still rides better. Better seating, at least I don't get the "seat fatigue" from doing a long trip in the taco vs the jeep. I'd come out stiff as rock in the Jeep. Towing, taco hands down. Both were/are Manual transmission, Taco hands down, but can be argued. Off-roading: never really done anything hard off roading, mostly dirt roads light trails, but taco has been smoother with shifting in rougher terrain. The wifey was mad as hell at me when I sold the Jeep and got the Taco (she loved the jeep). But once she sat in and we drove for a bit, she gave in. Now she's glad we have the Taco vs the jeep.

The Jeep has its market (Rock climbing, Mudding, 40 inch tires, road queens) but that requires deeper pockets. Jeep = Just. Empty. Every. Pocket. But Taco is a better daily driver, and its been solid. Plus I can drive over 70/75 mph and not feel like we're going to die.
