I’m just saying that well there might be normal temperatures in one place or another it’s not normal here at this time of the year for that temperature, And I’d like for a warmer temperature.

There are times I want to get the hell out of Southern California and then there are times, like when reading/looking at the 1st page of this thread, that I think I should definitely stay.

I can respect people's wishes about taking pictures of their vehicles, but don't you dare tell me I can't take pictures of my own truck! Read the original post!

I was just sharing this story with @shakerhood ...

A few months ago (I'm guessing it was in October or November when it was still fairly warm out), I was working and there were some teenage boys skateboarding out in the parking lot. One of the kids was wearing a Cheap Trick T-shirt. I noticed this as I was taking out the trash and we started chatting. This kid, who I believe was either 16 or 17, was absolutely amazed when I told that I'd actually seen Cheap Trick in concert. A short time later, I decided to give this kid a demonstration of my sound system by playing what was clearly his favorite band. I hadn't gotten his name yet, so I walked out of the patio bar towards my Taco and said "Hey, Cheap Trick" and nodded towards my truck. He picked up his skateboard and followed me over. I should mention at this point that I still had the Boss head unit, a 5-year old Pioneer component speaker system, and no sub or external amp. The reason I replaced the Boss after less than a year is because it lacked built-in iPod control and the USB port was almost useless as a result. I was running an aging 7th Gen iPod Nano through an AUX cable, but I was still able to wow this kid when I put on "I want you to want me." If I ever see him again, I'll gladly show him the new and improved sound system. In case you are just tuning in, I still have those same Pioneer speakers, but I now have a new Pioneer head unit, a Rockford Fosgate amplifier, and a Kicker powered subwoofer. My sound system is so powerful that it is now possible to "feel" my truck coming from almost a block away!

My boss (who as many of you know is also one of my best friends and is almost like a sister to me) was a bit annoyed that I was demonstrating my stereo system to a skate punk while on the clock, but at the same time my boss has a good understanding of my AS and is always happy when she sees me socializing in a positive manner. It also probably helped that when the kid asked me what I did for a living, I ended up explaining to him what a barback was and quite possibly convinced him that she should get a job barbacking once he turned 18.

And also, it does my heart good to see kids taking an interest in something besides social media or drug use. This kid was skateboarding, he obviously has a love of classic rock music, and I may very well have convinced him to buy a Tacoma when he gets his driver's license!

It was a plain white 2003 model with 325K miles on the clock. It had the police-style steel wheels and vinyl seats, but the owner claimed it was always a privately-owned Crown Vic. He was NOT the original owner. It was white with a gray interior, and it had a factory AM/FM CD/cassette combo. I've ridden in tired Crown Vic taxis before. The Crown Vic I went home in did not shake and rattle like a well-used cab. The engine was incredibly smooth and quiet, and the owner told me that the A/C and heat worked great. The car did have a lot of lights on (ABS, service engine, etc), but the owner assured me that there was nothing wrong with the car and they were errors. The owner was upset because Uber was forcing him to get rid of the 15-year old Crown Vic and get something newer...

You know what? It was purchased by a private owner when it was new, but it did serve briefly as a taxi between the original owner and the Uber driver who picked me up...

The separate bass control is mostly intended for use when adding an aftermarket sub to a factory radio, but my neighbor added the one that came with my sub anyway and I have to say that it is pretty freakin' cool!

And my system absolutely bumps with the volume at just 12 (the volume on this head unit goes up to 40)!
